We have a large area of the City that is out of power right now. The northeast side of Eau Claire seems to be most affected.
On April 30, 2013, at 1:38 pm, the EC Comm Center dispatched the EC Police Dept & EC Fire/Rescue to the Chippewa River for a kayaker in distress in the water.
The NWS has lifted the flood warning for Eau Claire County and only small amounts of rain or snow are being called for over the coming days.
The Chippewa River is near 770 ft. in elevation. Flood stage is 773 ft.
The City is looking for 3 volunteers to report on 3 outdoor warning sirens on the first Monday of the month from May through October.
The City is in the process of completing a timber stand improvement project on the City well field property. This sale is primarily salvage of downed trees from last May's storm.
3/26/13: Yesterday's work on Brackett Avenue is complete. Today work will begin on the right WESTBOUND lane from Keith to Margaret Street.
The right eastbound lane on Brackett Avenue will be closed between Rudolph Road and Keith Street beginning Monday, March 25, for street repair work.
The Public Hearing that was originally scheduled for City Council's consideration at this meeting has been canceled. Since this was the only item on the agenda, the Meeting has been canceled.
Due to lack of a quorum, the Transit Commission meeting scheduled this evening at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber has been canceled.
Crews will salt & plow arterial streets, and plow & sand secondary routes after arterials are cleared. The start of a full plow operation will be determined later.

City crews are working on completing the cleanup of primary streets, & beginning work on the secondary & residential streets. A full plow operation is anticipated to be complete by 2 am on Wed. 3/6/13.

Due to winter weather conditions, the Community Forum scheduled for tomorrow morning, March 5 at 8 a.m. at the L.E. Phillips Senior Center, has been canceled.

WATER MAIN BREAK 2/11/13: There is a water main break on the 300 block of Mt. Washington Avenue.
WATER SERVICE LEAK 2/7/13: The Utilities Division was notified of a water service leak in the 3400 block of London Road. Repairs have begun. Read more for traffic detour.
