Butterfly/Breast Stroke

This mini-class will emphasize technique, endurance, and speed work on these two strokes. Students must have completed Level 4 before enrolling in this course.

This mini class will teach the basics of underwater swimming and snorkeling. Many underwater games will be included. Students must have completed Level 4 before enrolling in this course.

Diving

Students should have passed the Red Cross Level 4 course before enrolling in this course. Dives taught will include: front dive, back dive, and front somersault. Students must have completed Beginning Diving before enrolling in Advanced Diving.

Sailing Instruction (Youth)

The Eau Claire Parks and Recreation Department is teaming up with the Lake Wissota Yacht Club to provide an introductory sailing class for boys and girls, ages 8-12. This class will cover the basics of sailing and no previous experience is required. Graduates of this program will be given the opportunity to participate in several Junior Races sponsored by the Lake Wissota Yacht Club at no cost with boats supplied by the Club. Each child is required to provide a Coast Guard approved lifejacket for each class period and must meet basic swimming skills.
