Tennis Instruction-USTA (youth)

All instructional classes will follow the USTA (United States Tennis Association) Recreational Tennis Curriculum. The USTA program includes performance objective, skill drills, and fun games on the courts.

Tennis-Peewee

PeeWee Tennis is designed for the youngest of players. Special equipment is provided for use in this class. Participants will play fun games and learn how to make contact with the ball while improving hand-eye coordination and self confidence.

Tennis-Pre-Beginner

This class is designed for new players that want to begin at an entry level. Balance, transferring weight, and ground strokes are incorporated in this instructional program. Participants will play fun games on the court and increase their self-confidence as their tennis techniques begin to develop. Students need to bring their own tennis racquet.

Tennis-Beginner

Skills incorporated into the beginner level of instruction include: playing games and sets, grip, body position, forehand stroke, backhand stroke, service and scoring. Players will increase self-confidence, develop tennis techniques, and improve coordination. Students need to bring their own tennis racquet.

Tennis-Advanced Beginner

Review previously learned strokes. New skills introduced include: Volleying techniques, the strategies for playing doubles, and playing at the net. Students need to bring their own tennis racquet.

Tennis-Intermediate

Improve your tennis skills. This class is designed for players who have developed basic tennis skills. At this level, the focus becomes service from the baseline, tennis drill, conditioning, strategy, and games. Players will also have the opportunity to review strokes, practice volleying techniques, and playing at the net. Students need to bring their own tennis racquet.
