Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan Update – September 2017

As the City of Eau Claire has grown since 2010, the need to update the plan has become apparent as bicycle ridershipBPAC Plan Update, Pic 1 has increased, and the community has been more aware of the health benefits of bicycling. Therefore, the City’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee has undertaken the process of reviewing and updating the 2010 Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan. A component of the plan are two maps (pages 22 and 23) that outline the recommended bicycle routes throughout the City. As part of the update process, the Committee has reviewed these routes and is suggesting some changes and the Committee would like your input!

The 2010 Plan also identified a number of locations within the City that had unique issues relative to the pedestrian and bicycle environment. As part of this update, the Committee has discussed these areas and updated the narratives that describe them. The area locations are illustrated and numbered on the bicycle route map and you can click here to review the updated description of each area.

Comments or suggestions that you would like to make regarding the draft map and study areas can be sent to: Senior BPAC Plan Update, Pic 2Planner Patrick Ivory at pat.ivory@eauclairewi.gov or you can contact him by telephone at 715-839-4914.

Please submit any comments or suggestions by October 16, 2017. They will then be forwarded to the Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee. Thanks for your interest in helping improve Eau Claire’s pedestrian and bicycling facilities and environment. Your input is much appreciated!
