 Getting on bus
City Bus Routes
  • Bus routes have been carefully designed to serve medical facilities, retail areas, and congregate housing. The city buses also serve neighborhoods as much as possible, particularly those that have a high concentration of elderly or disabled residents.

Handicap Accessible Buses
  • All 22 city buses in the Eau Claire Transit fleet are handicap accessible. They kneel close to the ground so they are level with the curb and are low-floored with no steps to negotiate. All buses also have a wheelchair ramp can accommodate two wheelchairs or scooters.

Bike Racks
  • All buses feature bike racks that accommodate two bicycles. There is no additional cost to use the rack; simply inform the driver that you have a bike.

Pre-school children, when accompanied by an adult, ride free. Two children per adult may ride free. (Accompanying adults must pay full fare).

To qualify for the reduced fare you must present one of the following:

medicare card
proof of being 65 years old or older
reduced fare card

 Receive Door-to-Door Service 
  • Paratransit provides door-to-door service, utilizing a fleet of lift-equipped passenger vans for passengers with disabilities that prevent them from accessing or navigating the city bus.
  • To qualify for paratransit services, you must complete an application process to prove you need the service. Just because you are not familiar with the bus routes does not qualify you; neither does simply being disabled. Many disabled people ride the city buses every day. Each bus in the transit fleet is handicap accessible.
