The Administrative Division of the Fire Department has the overall planning and management responsibility for the department. Included are short and long term goal setting, the submittal of annual operating and capital improvement project budgets, and the daily management of these budgets on a division basis, including overall department purchasing activities.

The City of Eau Claire's policies and regulations regarding Fire Code requirements and enforcement are expressed primarily in the Wisconsin Department of Commerce Administrative Code, and in City Ordinance.

Career Opportunities:
We are one of many fire departments that participates in a regional testing process designed to identify a qualified pool of entry-level candidates.  The route to apply is through Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC).  Go to http://www.cvtc.edu/Programs/DeptPages/fire/index.html, and you will notice a “Hiring Process” button.  Clicking on that button will take you to a sample application and a full description of the application process.  Realize that this application is for information only and is not the application used when the actual hiring process starts.  When the process begins (usually in January), the acceptable application is on CVTC’s main web page, http://www.cvtc.edu.

Purchasing Contact:
All purchases for City departments go through the Purchasing Department. Contact the department secretary at (715) 839-5012 with any inquiries or specialty information regarding equipment or services the fire department utilizes in its operations.
