To obtain a burning permit, it is recommended that one first calls the Burning Permit Information Line at (715) 839-3882 to find out if burning is allowed for that day. Local weather and DNR Burning Bans will dictate if burning is allowed. There is a $3 fee for burning permits. Cooking fires do not require a burning permit.

One must go to one of the six fire stations within the City of Eau Claire. It is recommended that the permit is processed at the closest fire station to where the burning will occur. All fire stations have RED self-service boxes where the citizen makes two copies of the permit information. One copy is put into the slot in the lid, and the other copy is retained with the citizen.
