| Boulevard Shade Tree Planting Program Public Improvement Projects - Shade trees are planted as part of all major public improvement projects where sidewalk and curb are in place. Each residence within a project area is eligible for up to two boulevard trees. City crews plant the trees and no assessment is made for the new plantings. Rebate Program - A resident who wants to plant trees on the boulevard may apply to participate in our rebate program. The city offers a $60.00 rebate for each tree planted. Certain restrictions apply, such as: only two trees can be rebated per parcel per year, curbs must be in place, trees planted must meet city specifications and there must be adequate space. City of Eau Claire Timber Sale Fairfax Park - Golf Road and Fairfax St. City Well Field - Riverview Drive off North Crossing On March 6, 2009 the City of Eau Claire will begin harvesting 89 acres of Red Pine, 53 acres Jack Pine and Oak. Sale boundary is red line, roads and trails or plantation edges. Management Objectives: Harvest over-mature jack pine and aspen, slow the spread of Oak Wilt and salvage dead standing trees.
