Animal Control
Community Service Officers perform Animal Control duties weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Unless it is an emergency, citizens are encouraged to call during these times. Police Officers will respond to animal complaints, if necessary, during off-hours.
- Licensing:
Required for all cats and dogs over the age of 5 months. Purchase licenses at the City Treasure's Office, 203 S. Farwell St.
Running at Large:
No dogs, cats or other domestic animals are permitted to run at large within the city limits.
Number of Pets Per Family:
No family or individual may keep more than two dogs or three cats within the city limits.
Barking:
No person shall keep a dog within the city that annoys the neighborhood by barking, yelping, or howling.
Animal Excrements:
The owner or person in charge of an animal shall promptly remove and dispose of any animal excrement deposited upon a public or private property within the City of Eau Claire.
