The Police Department has one K-9 Officer and one dog.  The Canine is cross-trained to do patrol work and drug detection.  Uses for K-9 include tracking of individuals, building searches, and drug detection.  The K-9 lives with the officer/handler and they work and train together regularly.  Our current K-9 officer is Officer Bill Wisener and his K-9 partner is Franko, a black German Shepard.

The officer and K-9 also do presentations for civic groups and schools as time permits.  Requests should be directed to the Deputy Chief of Patrol at (715) 839-6060.
