Environmental health is defined by State Statute Chapter 254 as the assessment, management, control and prevention of environmental factors that may adversely affect the health, safety or well being of individuals. This department's environmental health and laboratory division staff are highly trained in environmental, public health and laboratory science to carry out these responsibilities.
