The City of Eau Claire's policies and regulations regarding Fire Code requirements and enforcement are expressed primarily in the Wisconsin Department of Commerce Administrative Code, and in City Ordinance.


Services Provided:

The Eau Claire Fire Department accomplishes its mission through the delivery of fire suppression, emergency medical, hazardous materials and special rescue response capabilities. The department also provides non-emergency services in the areas of fire prevention and inspection services, including public education initiatives, new construction and existing building inspections. The department is contracted with the State of Wisconsin to provide Above Ground and Underground Storage Tank inspection services within the City Limits.

Career Opportunities:

The fire department tests each summer to establish a qualified list of candidates for hiring purposes. The application period for the 2009-2010 eligibility list is closed. The list is effective for one (1) year. Solicitation for applications to establish the 2010-2011 list most likely will begin late winter / early spring of 2010. Please check back for further information at that time.
