Horseshoe Club

The Eau Claire Horseshoe Club was organized on May 18, 1965, with pitching on four courts at Owen Park until moving to its present site in 1967, aided by the Eau Claire Parks & Recreation Department. Located in a pine grove just off the football-baseball stadium parking lot, the pitching complex has grown from 12 courts to its present number of 18. The clay courts are well lighted, there are bleachers for spectators and a clubhouse used as a refreshment and food stand facility during tournaments. At least three tournaments are held yearly: Eau Claire Earlybird in May; Eau Claire Open in June and the Eau Claire City-County in August. In addition, the club has hosted the Wisconsin State Tournament several times, including 2006, and the World Horseshoe Tournament in 1987 and 2003.

The season runs from early May through mid-August. Annual dues are only $20.

The Eau Claire Horseshoe Club invites men, women, and juniors to join us for an inexpensive summer of competition, exercise and camaraderie. As a National Horseshoe Pitcher's Association (NHPA) sanctioned club, members are eligible to compete in NHPA sanctioned tournaments including three held in Eau Claire, as well as other sanctioned tournaments held throughout Wisconsin and in other states. eauclairehorseshoe.jpg

Members are placed in one of two leagues based on their pitching abilities. Additionally, all leagues are handicapped allowing all pitchers to be competitive.
