Rules & Regulations

We are excited to have the capability to advertising the hundreds of events that take place in Carson Park each year. This sign could assist your organization in selling tickets, promoting attendance at your events and creating awareness of your events and organization.  We will post basic event information on the day of your event. This includes such wording as: Tonight North vs. Memorial, Football, 7 PM. It will be included with the special event application fee or your lease fee.

We are offering you the opportunity to do additional advertising, in monthly intervals, on the Carson Park message center sign as long as it conforms to City Ordinance. Here is some information on how it will work:

CITY ORDINANCE
Only events taking place on the premises may be advertised on the CP sign (16.16.070, I)
Organizations may advertise for ticket sales or other promotions on the sign.

CONTENT
Text only messages are allowed to scroll, and must continue to scroll across the sign face without stopping (like a stock market ticker tape). Messages with other graphics (more than just text) must be displayed for two seconds or longer and the transition or change to the next message must occur as quickly as possible with no motion, movement or animation of the message. The City Council and Plan Commission indicated that fades or dissolves are acceptable transitions provided they occur as quickly as the sign will function. Parks and Recreation has the authority to review all content placed on the message center for appropriateness. The sign is programmed and controlled from the Parks and Recreation administrative offices.

FEES
Advertising is available for one-month intervals of time at $100 per month (includes up to 4 advertisement wordings). All advertising fees must be paid in advance.  Additional advertising can be purchased for $5.00 per advertisement wording.

TRAFFIC
Traffic on Menomonie Street is approximately 18,000 vehicles per day. The sign should be visible from Clairemont Avenue, but this two sided message center sign is predominately visible from Menomonie Street, in both directions.

TIME OF OPERATION
The sign will be illuminated between 7AM and 10 PM during the summer and between 7AM and 7PM during the winter.

LOCATION
The sign is approximately 21 feet tall and 14 feet wide.

IMPRESSIONS
Customers will receive first priority for messages over standard informational messages i.e. (Welcome to Carson Park, Main Parking Lot Full, Race in Progress, etc.).

MISCELLANEOUS
Only events taking place in Carson Park can utilize the CP sign for advertising.  A maximum of 70 characters or up to 3 boards per advertisement is allowed.
