Rules & Regulations

Rules & Regulations 

  • Reservations are for pavilions/shelters only and do not include surrounding areas in the park.  The Parks & Recreation Department reserves the right to schedule other activities or events in the park.
  • Decorating: No tape, nails or other adhesives (tying up decorations is allowed).
  • Food/Catering services: User is responsible for making sure vendors protect the ground surfaces and hauls away all waste from food preparation (i.e. grease, oil, food remnants, etc.)
  • Political groups, marches or demonstrations need to contact the Police Department (715) 839-4975.
  • Music/Amplified Sound: Noise ordinance violations are addressed on a complaint basis.  Events in violation may be shut down.
  • Inflatables: Groups bringing any type of inflatable to your event needs to notify the Parks & Recreation Department prior to the event date.

Tents

  • Tents with stakes are not permitted without approval from the Parks & Recreation Director.
  • A $29.00 Utility Locate Fee and $46.00 Tent Application Fee (Fire Department) are charged for any tent over 250 square feet being set up in the park.  A representative from your party must meet with a Park Supervisor on site to discuss location of tents no later than one week prior to your event.  Additional fees will be assessed if any damage is done to water or electrical lines that are created by tent stakes.
  • At Rod & Gun Park one tent is allowed.  Tent size is limited to 20' X 30' square feet.  This will accommodate approximately 45 guests seated.

Fire Pit Policies

  • Fire Pits are allowed, but are not provided by the Parks & Recreation Department.
  • Fire Pits are permitted in parks as long as the fire pit is elevated and provided by user or user groups.
  • Burning Permit is required from the Fire Department prior to the event.
  • Users must notify Parks & Recreation Department of intent to use a fire pit.

Alcohol Regulations

  • Alcohol is not allowed under any circumstances at any neighborhood park and Owen Park.
  • If you are planning to have beer kegs (up to 3) at your event, a Beer Permit Application must be completed and returned 10 days prior to your event.
  • Carry-ins and bottles are allowed at Carson, Mt. Simon, Riverview, and Rod & Gun.  Limit of 1 gallon per person.

2012 Community Park Pavilions Fees

  • Monday - Thursday Rentals: $29.00
  • Friday Rentals: $59.00
  • Saturday, Sunday Rentals
    • $59.00 (1/2 day)
    • $93.00 (full day)

2012 Neighborhood Pavilions/Shelters Fee

  • Monday - Sunday Rentals: $29.00

* Except for Neighborhood Association Meetings.
* Some neighborhood shelters may be booked throughout the summer for recreation programs.

Reservation Times

  • Patrons may reserve pavilions Mondays through Fridays for any time period during normal park hours (4:00 AM - 11:00 PM)
  • Two reservation time slots will be offered on Saturdays and Sundays
    • No earlier than 4:00 AM - no later than 4:00 PM
    • No earlier than 5:00 PM - no later than 11:00 PM
    • Park staff will clean pavilions as needed between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM
  • Any group wishing to reserve a pavilion for the entire day either on a Saturday or a Sunday would pay the full day rental fee.
  • Pavilion Reservation forms must be completed for exclusive use of pavilions.  Reservations are accepted online and at the Parks and Recreation, 915 Menomonie Street, Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM
  • TELEPHONE RESERVATIONS ARE NOT ACCEPTED!!

Refund Policy

  • A $5.00 administrative fee will be deducted for all cancelled reservations
  • Refunds will only be given when notice for cancellation is received 5 business days prior to the event.
  • Refunds will not be issued due to rain-outs or inclement weather.

Keys for Access
There is a $10 deposit for all key check-outs. Below are the facilities that require a key for access:

  • Carson Birch Pavilion (gate)
  • Owen Park (bandshell/electrical)
  • Rod & Gun Pavilion (gate)
  • All neighborhood park shelters/pavilions
