What’s new in 2009…

  • We're Moving!!

    Beginning January 1, 2010, the Parks & Recreation Administrative offices will be located at 915 Menomonie Street (Hobbs Ice Center).

  • The Parks and Recreation Department is making some changes to become more environmentally conscious.
    ~reduced copies of Prime Times that are printed
    ~green” youth art classes
    ~reduced number of items that are mailed by using technology to

    communicate with our participants and the public
    ~use of paper products in our concession facilities
    ~promoting recycling at our parks and facilities
  • The Prime Times publication will no longer be mailed to each household beginning in 2009. Copies of the Prime Times will be available at the Parks and Recreation Community Center, Hobbs Ice Center, Fairfax Pool, City Hall, L.E. Phillips Library, and distributed through the Eau Claire Area School District Elementary Schools.
  • New programs that will be offered this summer include; geocaching, classic kickball tournament, noon trailblazers, scuba, Pilates, evening youth baseball, and Fairfax events.
  • The Parks and Recreation Department recognizes the benefits of partnerships. There are many new partnerships this upcoming season that include; ECASD football clinics, Challenger Sports British soccer camps, and EC Express Parks and Recreation Night.
