ECPD Notable Case Log 1/22 - 1/26

From 1-22-2026, 7:00AM, to 1-26-2026, 7:00AM, the ECPD responded to 203 calls for service. The calls per district are as follows: North District – 56, West District – 62, South District – 85.

 

January 22, 2026

North District

Traffic – Officers stopped a vehicle and contacted the operator and a passenger. During the contact, the driver voluntarily turned over an item of paraphernalia, which led to a search of the vehicle. More paraphernalia was located. The driver was cited for OAS and arrested for Possession of Meth and Paraphernalia.

 

South District

 

Domestic - Officers responded to a domestic at an apartment. The caller reported that their S/O was at the residence intoxicated and being disorderly. The caller advised the S/O had gotten drunk at a bar and returned home and tipped over a TV and caused a disturbance. The S/O was ultimately arrested for domestic DC and Possession of THC after residue was found.

 

Warrant - Officers arrested a person on probation for a DOC hold.  They were cooperative and taken to the jail.

 

Warrant – Officers responded to Probation and arrested a client for a hold. They were transported without incident.

 

 

January 23, 2026

North District

Warrant - Officers stopped a vehicle and arrested the driver for a Buffalo County Warrant.

 

West District

 

Retail Theft Follow-Up – Officers observed a suspect who had a BOLO warning for a previous theft driving. The person was the offender in a 2025 self-report where they stole from a gas station. Officers ordered the person in for Retail Theft and felony Bail Jumping.

 

Traffic Stop – Officers stopped a vehicle for expired registration and contacted the driver. The odor of marijuana was detected and a search yielded 42g of raw marijuana, gummies, wax, and several items of paraphernalia. They were ordered in for Possession of THC and Drug Paraphernalia.

 

Assist EMS - Officers and EMS responded after a person was located unresponsive from a likely overdose. While EMS was working on them, officers located drugs and paraphernalia. They were ordered in for Possession of Cocaine, Possession of a Schedule I Drug, Possession of Ketamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

 

Animal Mistreatment – Community Service Officers investigated an incident involving a person mistreating their dog. CSOs and officers arrived at the residence and located the dog. The dog’s hair was matted and damp, there were feces surrounding the dog in the kennel along with the dog appearing frail and very skinny. The dog was without food or water and appeared ill. The dog was ultimately seized and transported to ECCHA. The owner was not at the residence. BOLO charges were added for them to be arrested for Animal Mistreatment.

 

South District

 

Disturbance - Hospital security called to report that a person was causing issues at the hospital and refusing to leave. Officers contacted the person at the facility. They continued their disorderly behavior and were arrested for DC and misdemeanor Bail Jumping.

 

Disturbance – A short time later, the same person from the above case was reported to be causing a disturbance and urinating on the floor at a hotel. They were contacted and taken into custody. Once at the jail, they began making threats to kill officers. They were held at the jail for Lewd and Lascivious Behavior, CCW-knife, Threats to Law Enforcement and misdemeanor Bail Jumping.

 

 

January 24, 2026

North District

Domestic - Officers responded to a domestic at a trailer after Person 1 called to report that their S/O, Person 2, had come home and was creating a disturbance. Person 2 was interviewed and stated they just got out of the hospital and came home to find Person 1 in bed with Person 3. Person 2 was eventually arrested for Domestic DC, 72 hours enforced.

 

West District

 

Warrant Pickup – Officers conducted a bar walkthrough and located a wanted person. They were arrested for six Eau Claire County warrants and one Chippewa County warrant.

 

South District

 

Drug Investigation - Officers stopped a vehicle for a moving violation and made contact with the driver and one passenger. During the contact the driver advised there may be drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and a “roach” was observed in plain view. A search of the vehicle located more paraphernalia and a small amount of THC. The driver was arrested for the drug charges and several counts of felony Bail Jumping.

 

Bond Violation - Officers located a person they knew from previous contacts in the bar in violation of their felony bond. They were contacted and were belligerent.  They were eventually arrested for the bond violation and taken to the jail.

 

 

January 25, 2026

North District

Traffic - Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after discovering the registration was suspended. Contact was made with the operator, whose driver’s license was suspended.  The driver also had open cases with bond conditions not to operate a motor vehicle without a valid DL. They were ordered in for misdemeanor Bail Jumping and cited for OAS and No Insurance.

 

West District

 

Stolen Auto – Officers conducted a random registration check on a vehicle and saw it was listed stolen out of a nearby jurisdiction. A high-risk stop was initiated. The driver was identified. They were ordered out of the vehicle. Once out, the driver began running EB away from the stop. Officers pursued the driver while additional officers continued the high risk stop as the vehicle was occupied by additional passengers. A perimeter was established. The driver was located within the perimeter and fled a second time. They were not located after that. They have BOLO charges for: OMVWOC, OAR, Resisting, Poss. of Drug Paraphernalia, felony Bail Jumping X2 and misdemeanor Bail Jumping.

 

OMVWI - Officers responded to a hit and run in front of a bar. A reportedly intoxicated subject crashed into an ambulance and fled the scene. ECSO would locate and stop the vehicle. The driver was too intoxicated to complete SFSTs and was arrested for OMVWI. They fought with officers and refused to get into the squad. During this process they kicked an officer in the face. They were secured in the WRAP and a search warrant was conducted for blood.

 

Traffic - Officers were traveling through the area when they observed a vehicle strike a parked car alongside the road. The suspect vehicle then fled the area not knowing officers witnessed the crash. Officers caught up to the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, however the vehicle fled. Officers were able to conduct a box in maneuver for the suspect vehicle where they ultimately came to a stop. The operator appeared highly intoxicated; however, they refused to complete fields. A SW was obtained. They were arrested for OMVWI 3rd, Hit and Run Unattended and Fleeing.

 

South District

 

Family Trouble - Officers were detailed to a hotel for a domestic involving a couple. One person was arrested for domestic related Battery, DC and two counts of felony Bail Jumping.

 

Domestic - Officers were dispatched to an address for a physical domestic in progress. It was learned that Person 1 became upset with their S/O, Person 2, because another person was flirting with them at the bar earlier. Person 1 attacked Person 2 numerous times causing injuries. They were arrested for domestic DC.

 

 

January 26, 2026

North District

Traffic Stop - Officers made a stop on a vehicle where they were aware a passenger had several warrants. As the passenger, that person was taken into custody. The driver gave consent to search the vehicle. Inside the vehicle numerous drug items and drugs were located. The passenger was arrested for a probation warrant, a St. Croix County warrant, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of THC, Possession of Paraphernalia and felony Bail Jumping (x2). The driver was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and a probation hold.

 

Check Vehicle - Officers responded to a report of a vehicle parked in front of the caller’s residence with the interior light on for over an hour and the driver acting abnormal. Contact was made with the occupant of the vehicle. Drug paraphernalia was observed in plain view and a search of the vehicle would yield more drug-related items. The occupant was arrested for Poss. Drug Paraphernalia, Poss. of Illegally Obtained Prescription, felony Bail Jumping x3, and a probation hold.

 

West District

 

Traffic Stop – Officers observed a vehicle with an equipment violation. After contacting the driver, the odor of THC was detected and a container was observed. The driver turned over a container with THC weighing 10.63 grams. They were warned for the driving violations and ordered in for Poss. of THC.
