ECPD Notable Case Log 4/27 - 5/1
From 4-27-2026, 7:00AM, to 5-1-2026, 7:00AM, the ECPD responded to 259 calls for service. The calls per district are as follows: North District – 94, West District – 69, South District – 96.
April 27, 2026
North District
Warrant Pickup - DOC provided GPS information for a person as they had a DOC warrant. An officer located the person and took them into custody.
April 28, 2026
North District
Warrant Pickup – An officer recognized a person riding a bicycle. After checking the person’s info, it was learned they had a valid warrant. The person was arrested on the warrant and after a search a concealed knife was located, and they were also arrested for CCW-Knife.
Trespassing – An officer contacted a person after they were at a gas station after being banned from the property. The person was cited for trespassing.
West District
Traffic Stop – Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a speed violation. The driver admitted there was marijuana in the vehicle and the vehicle was searched. Marijuana was located in the vehicle along with a BB gun under the driver seat that looked like a Glock 19. The person was arrested for Poss. of THC and misdemeanor Bail Jumping as they have bond conditions not to possession facsimile firearms.
South District
Warrant Pickup - Officers responded to DOC for a probation warrant at DOC. A person was taken into custody.
Retail Theft – An officer followed up with a person and ordered them in for Retail Theft (x2) and felony Bail Jumping (x7) after they were identified as the suspect in two separate thefts from a department store.
April 29, 2026
North District
Crash - Officers were dispatched regarding a hit-and-run crash. A track official, who had just finished a meet and was leaving, reportedly drove across football and soccer fields, struck several trees, and continued through multiple yards. A coach followed the official as they ultimately struck a power pole and fire hydrant. Officers arrived on scene shortly thereafter. The driver was not impaired, and the incident was likely caused by a medical event.
Theft/PO Hold - A resident reported that a person wearing all black entered their unlocked vehicle and attempted to start it. The subject fled after being confronted by the caller. Shortly afterward, additional reports were received of a person matching the same description knocking on doors in the area. One resident reported that their spouse allowed the person inside to use the bathroom; the person left only after the resident confronted them with a firearm. A person was later located, identified as the suspect, and arrested on a probation hold. None of the reporting parties wished to pursue charges.
Assault – Person 1 called to report that their significant other’s cousin, Person 2, was currently at their residence covered in blood from being beaten up. Officers arrived and back tracked the person’s night of bar hopping and came to the conclusion that they were probably assaulted near a specific location by an unknown subject. The person had a laceration to their nose, and it was also fractured. They provided a description of the suspect. Case forwarded to detectives.
West District
OWI – An officer stopped a vehicle for a moving violation and made contact with the operator. The person admitted to having a few drinks and smelled of intoxicants. They failed SFSTs and were arrested for OWI 1st. PBT .108.
South District
Fight - Multiple officers were dispatched to a physical fight involving two people. Contact was made with an intoxicated Person 1 and Person 2. It was learned that both are friends, both had injuries, and both refused to pursue charges. Both were cited for UA, Disorderly Conduct and both were arrested for PO Holds. It is not clear as to why they got into an altercation.
Traffic Stop – An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and made contact with Person 1 and Person 2. Inconsistent stories and behavior led to an Act 79 search which yielded a meth bubble and concealed knife in the vehicle. Person 1 was ordered in for Possession of Paraphernalia, and CCW-knife.
Animal Mistreatment – A community service officer took a case where Person 1 was seen on video kicking two dogs several times. An officer assisted and spoke with the person who admitted to getting frustrated with the dogs and kicking them. The person was ordered in for 2 counts of Mistreating an Animal.
April 30, 2026
North District
Criminal Damage - Officers responded to a neighbor dispute. Person 1, reported that their neighbor, Person 2, was damaging their car. There’s been an on-going issue between these neighbors. Person 2 smeared egg salad on Person 1’s vehicle. Person 2 was belligerent with officers and their behavior continued to escalate. They were placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct and transported to the jail where they continued making threats to come back and fight Person 1. Person 2 was required to post bond as a result. Shortly after, officers were called back to the area for Person 2’s parent, Person 3. Person 3 was outside of Person 1’s home threatening to beat them up. Person 3 was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Making Threats, and was taken to jail.
Warrant - Officers were detailed to a laundromat for a check person of a subject only wearing a towel. Officers arrived and contacted a person. It was discovered they had a valid warrant for their arrest. They were arrested without incident and transported to the ECCJ without incident.
Assault - Officers were detailed to a shelter in reference to an assault where the victim was struck in the head several times with a bottle. The victim would suffer several fairly severe lacerations to their head and sought medical treatment. Having the assistance of surveillance in the area, the suspect was identified. The suspect had fled the area on foot prior to officers arrival and has not yet been located. A BOLO was entered for the person to be arrested for Substantial Battery.
West District
Check Person - Staff reported a person was outside yelling and hitting garbage cans. Officers located the person. They had a probation condition prohibiting contact with the gas stations. The person was arrested for a Probation Hold. They made threats to harm officers, resulting in the person also being arrested for Threats to LE.
Traffic – An officer stopped a vehicle for a defective headlamp. The driver was ordered in for criminal OAR and cited for No Insurance and Non-Registration.
May 1, 2026
West District
Check Person – Person 1 reported that Person 2 pushed them and grabbed their throat. This was at least the third contact officers had contact with Person 2 that day. Person 2 was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Simple Assault.
