ECPD Notable Case Log 5/1 - 5/4

From 5-1-2026, 7:00AM, to 5-4-2026, 7:00AM, the ECPD responded to 191 calls for service. The calls per district are as follows: North District – 65, West District – 52, South District – 74.

 

May 1, 2026

South District

Domestic – Officers responded for a domestic that had occurred earlier. Person 1 was reporting that they were struck in the back of the neck during an argument in their bedroom with Person 2. Interviews were conducted and Person 2 was arrested for Domestic DC and Battery.

West District

Check Person - Officers responded after several calls about a person defecating in the road. Officers arrived and located the person with no pants or underwear on. A statement was obtained from one of the callers. There have been numerous calls with the person in the last 24 hours. They were arrested for DC and Resisting.

Check Person - Officers responded in reference to a neighbor who was acting strange. The neighbor was identified. They were told not to go back over to the neighbor’s house as they were having a garage sale with little kids present and their behavior was scaring the kids. As officers were leaving, the person was seen going back to the neighbor’s house. The person was recontacted and resisted while being taken into custody. They were arrested for DC and Resisting.

 

May 2, 2026

North District

Domestic - Roommates were arguing about their puppy when they got into a physical altercation. Person 1 struck Person 2 in the head with a baseball bat, causing a laceration. Person 1 was arrested for Domestic Disorderly Conduct and Battery. The 72 Hour was enforced.

Hit and Run - A black Chevrolet Traverse struck a vehicle containing a 9-year-old and their parents, then the Traverse fled the scene. The Traverse was later located and towed, with a hold placed on the vehicle. BOLO-Interviews were added for the Traverse’s registered owner, Person 1, and suspected driver, Person 2.

Hit and Run - Officers were dispatched to a hit and run at a grocery store. The driver struck a fire hydrant causing damage to the vehicle. The vehicle continued until striking a sign and coming to a rest. The driver exited and made it to their residence before officer arrival. BOLOs were added for their arrest.

Accident – Officers responded for an accident in which a motorcycle crashed trying to avoid an SUV that turned in front of them. A silver SUV turned left in front of the motorcycle causing the crash resulting in injury. The SUV left the scene. Public Space cameras showed the SUV and license plate. An officer spoke with the driver who admitted to driving the vehicle. They were cited for FYR while making a left turn.

South District

Traffic Stop - Officers stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver had a revoked driver’s license and bond conditions not to drive without a valid license. A later consent search of the person yielded a meth needle. The person was arrested for six counts of felony Bail Jumping, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Traffic Stop - Officers stopped a vehicle after a registration check showed the registered owner was suspended. They arrested a passenger for a warrant and Possession of THC.

 

May 3, 2026

North District

Traffic – An officer stopped a person knowing they had a revoked driving status. The person was ordered in for OAR and Failure to Install IID.

Disorderly – An officer checked on a disturbance in a vehicle. Two friends were out fishing when one of them became heavily intoxicated. This person was screaming at everyone, rolling around on the ground, and acting out of control. Attempts were made to de-escalate them. They were arrested for DC, Bail Jumping, and cited for Excessive Public Intoxication.

Crash – An officer located the suspect in a hit and run case from 5/2. The person was intoxicated at the time of the arrest and in violation of their bond conditions. They were arrested for OAR, Failure to install IID, Bail Jumping and cited for Hit and Run, Speeding, and Failure to Maintain Control of Vehicle (x2).

West District

Check Person - Officers were detailed to a person refusing to exit a cab. Officers contacted the person who was intoxicated and argumentative. They refused to identify themselves to officers and were detained. They resisted but were eventually secured in handcuffs. They were arrested for DC and Resisting.

Assault - Officers responded to a bar after a person assaulted a bartender after being kicked out. Person 1 reported they had told Person 2 to leave as they were too intoxicated. Person 2 slapped Person 1 in the face and they grabbed a hold of each other. Person 1 was able to move Person 2 outside the bar and injured their shoulder during the process. Person 2 left the area on foot and was located shortly after by officers. They were arrested for Battery, DC, and misdemeanor Bail Jumping.

Disturbance - Officers were detailed to a disturbance between two people. One of the callers stated Person 1 attempted to strike Person 2 with their vehicle. Upon arrival, it was discovered the two were involved in an argument. During this argument, Person 1 entered into their vehicle and attempted to strike Person 2 with their vehicle as they were standing in the front yard. Person 1 parked the vehicle and exited. They approached Person 2 and began violating pulling their hair. Person 1 left the scene prior to officer’s arrival. A BOLO was entered for Person 1 to be arrested for Domestic-related DC and Battery. Person 2 chose to waive the 72-hour no contact.

South District

Traffic - Officers observed a vehicle in a gas station lot occupied by Person 1 and Person 2. Officers were aware they had BOLO charges for retail theft. A traffic stop was made on the vehicle after it left the gas station. Person 1 was contacted and taken into custody. Fentanyl was located on them during a search. Person 2 was contacted next and taken into custody. Methamphetamine was located in their bag. Person 1 was arrested for Possession of Schedule I and II Narcotics, felony Bail Jumping (x3), misdemeanor Bail Jumping, probation hold, and Retail Theft. Person 2 was arrested for Poss. of Methamphetamine, Poss. of Drug Paraphernalia, felony Bail Jumping and Retail Theft.

Prowler – Officers were detailed to a report of a prowler. The caller stated a person was observed looking into several parked vehicles. Officers were able to arrive and identify the person. It was discovered the person had a valid DOC warrant and was taken into custody without issue.

 

May 4, 2026

North District

Check Person – An officer contacted a person inside a closed off construction site. The person was arrested for Trespass to a construction site.

Traffic – An officer stopped a person for a red-light violation. During the contact, the person informed the officer they had a knife on them. The person was arrested for OAR, felony Bail Jumping (x5), and CCW-knife.

South District

Warrant Pickup – An officer recognized a person in a vehicle and was aware they had a valid warrant. The person was contacted as they were walking to their residence and taken into custody.

Traffic – Officers stopped a vehicle occupied by Persons 1, 2 and 3. Officers were aware they had been returning to Eau Claire after purchasing drugs from the Twin Cities. 9.9 grams of fentanyl, a digital scale and numerous additional drug paraphernalia items were located during a search. Person 2 was arrested for Poss. with Intent to Deliver Schedule I and II Narcotic, Poss. of Drug Paraphernalia and felony Bail Jumping. Person 3 was arrested for Poss. with Intent to Distribute Schedule I and II Narcotic and Poss. of Drug Paraphernalia.
