ECPD Notable Case Log 5/11 - 5/14
From 5-11-2026, 7:00AM, to 5-14-2026, 7:00AM, the ECPD responded to 194 calls for service. The calls per district are as follows: North District – 61, West District – 56, South District – 77.
May 11, 2026
West District
Traffic Stop – An officer stopped a vehicle for expired registration. During the contact, the person admitted that meth was inside the vehicle. A search revealed meth, THC and paraphernalia. The person was arrested OAR, Possession of Meth, Possession of THC, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Bail Jumping and a PO Hold.
South District
Warrant Pickup – Officers contacted a person at DOC and arrested them for a PO Hold.
May 12, 2026
North District
Warrant – While cleaning up homeless encampments on the riverbank, officers located and identified a person as they were gathering scrap metal to put onto their bicycle. The person had a DOC warrant and was taken into custody.
Sex Assault – A person reported that on the night of 5/6, they were staying at a shelter, and they were awoken by a person touching them while they slept. The suspect was later identified. Video surveillance showed the suspect approach the person’s bed several times while they were asleep and they appeared to touch and kiss them. The suspect was located. They admitted they ‘tripped’ on a wheelchair and fell onto the person but denied touching them inappropriately. The suspect was taken into custody. A search of their person yielded a meth pipe. The person was arrested for 4th Degree Sexual Assault, Poss. of Meth, and a Dunn Co. Warrant.
Disorderly – Officers were called for two people fighting and arguing. The fight was reported to be physical in nature. Officers arrived and met with Person 1 and Person 2. Both subjects were uncooperative, however officers determined Person 1 was the primary issue and would be arrested. Person 1 tried to walk away from officers and resisted arrest. They were decentralized but continued to fight with officers. They were placed into a WRAP and taken to jail. They were arrested for DC, Poss. of THC, and Resisting/Obstructing.
West District
Traffic – An officer stopped a vehicle for expired reg. The driver was revoked for OWI and required to have an IID installed. They were ordered-in and cited.
Juvenile Disorderly - Officers were called for a juvenile run away. A 7- year-old walked away from school and was followed home by staff. Officers contacted the child and their parent at home but left shortly thereafter. A while later, the parent called to report that their child had a large knife and was threatening them with it. The parent locked themselves in the bathroom and the child was trying to get in. Officers responded to the home and could see the child inside with the knife. At one point, the child entered the lower level, so officers entered to remove the parent. The child was out of sight but had thrown the knife into an area that officers could see was away from them. The child was eventually detained and calmed down.
May 13, 2026
North District
Traffic Stop – An officer conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation. Upon contacting the vehicle, the distinct odor of Marijuana was detected. A search of the vehicle would yield a bag with 4.77 grams of THC belonging to Person 1. A search of Person 2 would also yield 3.44 grams of THC. Both were ordered in for Poss. of THC and Person 1 would also be ordered in for felony Bail Jumping (x2) and misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
Ordinance Violation/Warrant - Officers responded to address garbage and other debris scattered in a city parking lot. Multiple individuals were previously warned about the garbage and notified to remove it. Today, many of the items were disposed of. Person 1 was issued a citation for Public Good Order and arrested for a DOC warrant. Person 2 was also issued a citation for Public Good Order.
West District
Restraining Order Violation – Officers responded for a follow-up regarding a restraining order violation where Person 1 was the respondent and they contacted the petitioner, Person 2, on 5/11. Officers located Person 1 walking outside the residence, and they disobeyed commands to stop and attempted to get away by entering their residence. An officer was able to grab a hold of them, and they resisted and made threats to officers. Eventually the person was taken into custody for Violation of a Court Order, Threats to Law Enforcement, Battery to Law Enforcement, and Resisting.
Traffic Stop – An officer stopped a vehicle for loud exhaust and a cracked windshield. They contacted Person 1 and Person 2. Person 1 was on probation and provided odd details about where they were going. The two were ultimately pat frisked. Person 2 was a felon and a knife was located on their person. Shortly after, a large bag of meth was located on their person. Person 2 was arrested for Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, after the bag weighed approximately 20 grams.
Traffic – An officer stopped a vehicle for equipment violations. The driver had a revoked driver’s license. The person was arrested and cited for OAR.
South District
Warrant - Officers arrested a person for a DOC warrant without issue.
Retail Theft – Loss Prevention at a store advised Person 1 tried to steal almost $900 worth of items and they were in contact with them. Person 1 left prior to officer arrival. However, a passerby observed Person 1, Person 2, and Person 3 arguing near another store. An officer located the group and spoke with them. Person 1 admitted they tried to steal items. They were taken into custody and arrested for felony Retail Theft, misdemeanor Bail Jumping (9x), and felony Bail Jumping.
May 14, 2026
West District
Traffic – An officer stopped a vehicle for operating without its lights on. Contact was made with a person who displayed signs of intoxication. The person would fail SFSTs and was arrested for OWI 2nd Offense. Blood was refused and a search warrant was obtained.
