ECPD Notable Case Log 5/14 - 5/18

From 5-14-2026, 7:00AM, to 5-18-2026, 7:00AM, the ECPD responded to 270 calls for service. The calls per district are as follows: North District – 89, West District – 79, South District – 102.

 

May 14, 2026

North District

Warrant Pickup – An officer observed a person at a laundromat and was aware that they had a warrant. The person was taken into custody, and a search revealed a bag of meth. The person was transported to the jail for the warrant and Possession of Meth.

Disturbance – Officers responded in reference to a disturbance involving Person 1 and Person 2. Officers attempted to take Person 1 into custody and they resisted. They were tased 2 times and eventually taken into custody for Domestic DC, Battery, Resisting and a PO Hold.

West District

DOC Warrant – Officers picked up a person on a probation warrant. They were taken into custody and transported to jail.

Hit & Run – Officers responded in reference to a vehicle that hit a traffic standard knocking it down. Witnesses said the driver and passenger fled on foot. Descriptions were given along with direction of travel. An officer located the pair about a block away. They were identified. The driver was cited for Hit & Run to Adjacent Property.

South District

Disturbance – Officers responded for a disturbance. Information from a business owner was that Person 1 pushed Person 2 and Person 3. Person 1 was arrested for DC and Person 2 was arrested for an Eau Claire County warrant.

 

May 15, 2026

North District

Traffic Stop – An officer stopped a person for a moving violation. The person was ordered in for Operating after Revocation and Failure to Install IID.

Check Person – Staff reported a person was causing a disturbance. The person was deemed a threat to themselves and others and was uncooperative with officers. They were arrested for Disorderly Conduct and required to post bond.

Drug Investigation – An officer stopped a vehicle for defective exhaust and made contact with a person. During the contact, paraphernalia was observed in plain view and the person was arrested. Subsequent search yielded other packaging and paraphernalia that later field tested positive for fentanyl. They were arrested for the drug charges and several counts of felony Bail Jumping.

Disturbance – A community member called to report seeing Person 1 slam Person 2’s head against a vehicle in the parking lot. Person 1 was identified as the suspect and later arrested near the bus transfer station. They also had methamphetamine in their possession. Person 2 was identified as the victim. Person 1 was arrested for Battery, DC and Poss. of Methamphetamine.

West District

Domestic Disturbance – Person 1 stopped their significant other, Person 2, from trying to pop their own ingrown hair. This upset Person 2, and they hit Person 1 multiple times on their leg. Person 2 was arrested for Domestic Disorderly Conduct and Battery, felony Bail Jumping, and misdemeanor Bail Jumping.

911 Investigation – Officers were detailed after a 911 hang up and text messages that said Person 1’s significant other was “having a scary episode” and is “triggered by cops.” While speaking with Person 1 outside of the apartment their s/o, Person 2, came out of the apartment and created an additional disturbance. Person 2 was uncooperative with officers and arrested for Domestic DC. Person 1 was rated high risk during the domestic lethality but refused services. 72 hr no contact was enforced.

 

May 16, 2026

North District

Assist EMS – An officer followed up with a person and arrested them for Possession of Meth from a previous case.

Warrant Pickup – Officers were dispatched to a bar for a warrant pickup. Officers located and took a person into custody for a DOC warrant.

Traffic Stop – An officer initiated a traffic stop on a motorcycle after the operator was intentionally revving the engine in the downtown area and did not have valid license plates on the vehicle. The operator returned with a revoked driver’s license and IID required. The person was arrested for OAR, Failure to install IID and issued multiple traffic citations.

West District

Assault – On 5/15/26, hospital staff reported that a person violently assaulted two nurses. The person pulled both nurses into a room and prevented them from leaving. They choked one of the nurses and said, “you’re not getting out of here.” The other nurse hit the panic button for security assistance. The person was heard saying, “I need to kill them to save the world.” The person was transported to jail in the WRAP. They were charged with Battery to a Health Care Provider (x2), Suffocation/Strangulation, Disorderly Conduct, and placed on a PO Hold.

South District

Check Person – Officers were dispatched to the area for a report of a person lying near the roadway. Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious person lying face-up on the ground with an e-bike near their feet. The person eventually regained consciousness, refused to identify themselves, and attempted to leave the scene. Officers detained the person pending medical evaluation. As medics arrived, the person attempted to discard a dirty pill bottle from their fanny pack. The person was subsequently taken into custody. After being evaluated by medics and refusing medical treatment, the person was arrested for Possession of Cocaine, Resisting, and Bail Jumping.

Sex Offense – A group contacted us in regards to a coordinated meetup with a person who was under the impression they were meeting an 11 year old for sex. Officers arrived and the group was with the person who is a registered sex offender. The group provided a copy of the chat history which satisfied the elements of Child Enticement. The person also admitted to officers they were there to meet the juvenile for sex. The suspect was taken into custody and brought to ECPD where an officer conducted a more in-depth interview. The person was arrested for Child Enticement and Use of Computer to Facilitate Child Sex Crime.

 

May 17, 2026

North District

Fight – An intoxicated person attempted to punch and kick a bouncer. The bouncer restrained the person on ground until an officer arrived. The person was taken into custody and placed in a WRAP. They were transported to jail for Disorderly Conduct.

Assault – An officer has been following up on a fight involving several juveniles on May 15th . One person was ordered in for Theft. Three others were each referred for Disorderly Conduct and Battery.

Stolen Vehicle – A vehicle stolen from an apartment driveway was entered into NCIC.

Warrant – Officers were detailed to a location after receiving information that a wanted subject was there. Officers arrived and contacted the person, arresting them for their valid Pepin County warrant.

South District

Domestic Disturbance – Intoxicated Person 1 and Person 2 got into an argument over cigarettes, resulting in Person 1 calling Person 2 demeaning names. When Person 1 was later sleeping, Person 2 hit Person 1 in the face with a beer, resulting in injuries. Person 2 was located near the residence and was arrested for OWI (1st) and Domestic Disorderly Conduct and Battery.

OWI – An officer stopped a person for violating a red traffic signal. Upon contact with the person, they appeared to be impaired. They started SFSTs and then stopped and stated they were drunk. PBT of .180. Blood refused, warrant applied for and granted. The person was arrested.

 

May 18, 2026

North District

Traffic – Officers stopped a vehicle after conducting a random registration check after noting the RO had a revoked driving status. The driver was identified and was not the RO. A record’s check showed the person had a DOC warrant. The person was taken into custody without incident.

West District

Family Trouble – Officers responded for a domestic where two people were reportedly beating each other up and one person had a knife to their neck, cutting themselves. Officers contacted Person 1 and Person 2. It was determined the knife information was inaccurate. Based on interviews and visible injuries on Person 2, Person 1 was arrested for Domestic-related Battery and DC. The 72 hour was waived.

Check Person – An officer made consensual contact with a person who had parked in front of a known drug house after leaving another known drug house. The person’s story did not add up. K9 Manso arrived and indicated on the vehicle. .79 grams of methamphetamine were located in the car. The person was arrested for Poss. of Methamphetamine, and felony Bail Jumping (x2).
