ECPD Notable Case Log 5/18 - 5/21
From 5-18-2026, 7:00AM, to 5-21-2026, 7:00AM, the ECPD responded to 199 calls for service. The calls per district are as follows: North District – 63, West District – 67, South District – 69.
May 18, 2026
North District
Fight – A person was arrested for DC and Battery after they punched a person in the face over a cigarette.
Retail Theft – An officer followed up with a case from 4/28 where a person stole $51 of merchandise from a grocery store. The person was in custody at the jail and refused an interview. They were arrested for Retail Theft, misdemeanor Bail Jumping (4x), and their current PO hold was extended.
Warrant – Officers had multiple contacts with a person throughout the day. As a result of these contacts, probation issued a warrant for their arrest. The person was located on a bike path near a resource center and taken into custody. During a search of their person, multiple items of contraband were located, including a used meth needle and a marijuana grinder and pipe. The person was arrested for the DOC warrant and Poss. of Drug Paraphernalia.
South District
Warrant – A person was arrested at the DOC for a warrant, no issues.
Bond Violation – Victim Witness called to report that they believed Person 1 was at a location in violation of their bond. They were on a phone call with the victim from a domestic disturbance, Person 2, and believed they heard Person 1 in the background. Person 1 was released from custody today and signed their bond conditions prohibiting contact with Person 2. Officers responded and spoke with both. Both were confused about the bond conditions. Person 1 was ordered-in for misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
Ordinance Violation – An officer observed two people drinking alcohol at the park on public space cameras. They contacted the two. Both were cited for open containers.
Disturbance – Officers were dispatched for the report of a fight between two people. One person appeared to have a head injury and was bleeding. When officers arrived, they located the two walking to the apartment complex. They were identified. Both were friends and the fight was about who would win an MMA-style fight. Alcohol was a contributing factor. Both subjects were cited for DC.
May 19, 2026
North District
Traffic – An officer stopped a person as they were aware they had a criminally revoked driving status. The person was order in for OAR, and felony Bail Jumping (x2).
Warrant – An officer observed a person walking. A record’s check showed the person had a valid warrant. As the officer stepped out with the person, the person fled on foot but was apprehended a short distance away. They were arrested on the warrant and Resisting.
Disturbance – Officers responded to a bar for a fight. A person was using derogatory terms and was kicked out of the bar. While being escorted out, they swung a glass bottle at the bouncer, but missed. The person was contacted nearby and arrested on a PO hold and cited for DC as staff didn’t want any enforcement action.
Crash/Domestic – An officer met with Person 1 who reported that their vehicle was struck earlier in the day by their live-in ex, Person 2. Person 1 was cleaning out their car when Person 2 drove up to them. Person 2 started yelling at them, so Person 1 closed the door of their vehicle. Person 2 intentionally struck Person 1’s vehicle with their vehicle, while Person 1 was seated inside. Person 1 left the area and Person 2 followed them to Chippewa but discontinued following them after Person 1 pulled into a different gas station. There was damage to Person 1’s vehicle consistent with what they reported. Initially, a BOLO was added for Person 2 to be arrested. An officer located Person 2’s vehicle and found damage consistent to a crash. Person 2 was not located at that time. After starting their shift, an officer located Person 2 at their residence, standing outside their vehicle. They were taken into custody and made statements about ‘having a bad day yesterday.’ They were arrested for domestic DC, Hit and Run Attended, 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Reckless Driving, and a PO hold. They were issued six additional citations.
West District
Family Trouble – Officers responded for a reported domestic. Person 1 reported they’d been in a verbal argument with their significant other, Person 2. Person 2 was out on bond for a previous domestic arrest that occurred a few days earlier. Person 2 left the scene prior to officers arrival. BOLO charges of Domestic-related DC, Intimidation of a Victim, felony Bail Jumping (x2) and misdemeanor Bail Jumping were added for Person 2.
South District
Traffic – An officer observed a motorcycle violating numerous traffic laws and attempted a traffic stop. The motorcycle fled at a high rate of speed and attempted to elude them. The operator was unstable on the motorcycle and eventually pulled into a fast-food parking lot and threw their keys. The operator showed significant signs of impairment and admitted they tipped their motorcycle numerous times tonight since leaving a bar. They refused SFSTs and were taken into custody for OWI. A search of their person yielded a THC vape. They were arrested for OWI 2nd, Fleeing, and Poss. of THC. They were issued five citations as well.
May 20, 2026
North District
Warrant Pickup – An officer recognized a person and knew they had a warrant. The person was arrested without incident.
Traffic Stop – An officer conducted a traffic stop for a moving violation. A consent search revealed cocaine and paraphernalia. The person was arrested for Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Bail Jumping.
Ordinance Violation – An officer checked on people camping in a parking ramp. A person was arrested for a Rusk County warrant.
Warrant Pickup – A person was located along the Eau Claire River. The person was arrested for a DOC warrant.
Warrant Pickup - Officers were checking the wooded area behind a resource center. They contacted a person eating paper packets. The person stated that they ate methamphetamine the day before that was “laced with demon” and was eating the paper to “flush their system”. The person had an active warrant for their arrest.
Assist EMS – Officers and EMS were detailed for a PNB. A person called 911 to report finding their spouse deceased. The person had a lengthy medical history and was a DNR patient. They likely died from a medical event. ME responded and detectives were notified.
West District
Family Trouble – Officers contacted a person in reference to BOLO charges for a domestic the prior night. The person was arrested for Domestic-related DC, felony Bail Jumping, Intimidation of a Victim and misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
Retail Theft – An officer followed up with a self-report and issued a person a citation for Retail Theft after they scanned the items at the self-checkout but left without paying for them.
South District
Disturbance – Officers responded for a disorderly person. The person had threatened to kill staff. They were arrested for DC and threats to health care providers.
May 21, 2026
North District
Disorderly – Officers were dispatched regarding a person who was standing in the roadway and threw a rock at a vehicle. Contact was made with a person who was under the influence of meth and told officers that they had been digging in a “pit” for the last 14 days. The person was arrested for Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Damage, Bail Jumping, and a PO Hold.
Traffic Stop – An officer stopped a vehicle for loud exhaust after it left a known drug house and contacted a person. During the stop, a pat frisk was conducted and the person was found to be in possession of a hidden pocketknife. The person is a convicted felon and was taken into custody for CCW-knife. A search of their person yielded .54g of meth. A search of the vehicle yielded .42g of cocaine, other drug-related items and another concealed knife. They were arrested accordingly.
Domestic – A person called to report that their live-in ex had just assaulted them and that they could not separate from them. Officers contacted and intoxicated ex as they were attempting to leave the residence. They were arrested for Domestic Battery, Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Damage and were cited for Poss. of THC and Underage Drinking.
West District
Warrant – An officer stopped a bicycle for operating without the appropriate lights. Contact was made with a person. Prior to being arrested for an out-of-county warrant, the person attempted to conceal 3g of meth in a Ziplock bag by dropping it on the ground and standing on it. They were arrested for the warrant, Poss. of Meth, felony Bail Jumping (x6) and Bail Jumping (x2).
South District
Disorderly – Security from a grocery store called to report and ex-employee had made threats to shoot up and blow up the store. An officer interviewed three current employees and determined that the ex-employee was to be arrested. They were contacted and arrested for Disorderly Conduct and potentially Terroristic Threats pending further interviews.
Warrant Pickup – An officer contacted two people at a fast-food restaurant. One person was taken into custody and transported to jail for a DOC warrant.
