ECPD Notable Case Log 5/21 - 5/27
From 5-21-2026, 7:00AM, to 5-27-2026, 7:00AM, the ECPD responded to 421 calls for service. The calls per district are as follows: North District – 125, West District – 139, South District – 157.
May 21, 2026
North District
Mental Health – Officers were called to a day resource center and a person was placed on an emergency detention CH 51 after several weeks of declining mental health and dangerous behavior.
South District
Animal Abuse – Officers responded to a home and arrested a person for Mistreating Animals after their cat died due to severe malnutrition and dehydration.
May 22, 2026
North District
911 Investigate – The same person called Comm Center multiple times and would disconnect. Officers located the intoxicated person on the bike trail. The person told officers they needed to go to jail and they were on probation. Probation was contacted, and they confirmed the person’s beliefs. They authorized a hold, and the person was taken into custody.
Check Person - Officers were dispatched to an area regarding a person passed out in the grass. Contact was made with the intoxicated person. They were medically evaluated and ordered in for Bail Jumping and cited for Public Excessive Intoxication.
Burglary - Officers responded to a burglary in progress at a home. Officers located two people fleeing from the area on foot and began to pursue them. Both people were apprehended and were taken into custody. Both were transported to JDC and referred for Possession of Burglarious Tools, Resisting and Criminal Trespass to Dwelling.
West District
Mental Health - Officers were dispatched to an apartment for a check welfare/suicide attempt. Officers received information that a person had taken numerous prescription pills in an effort to kill themself. When officers arrived outside the apartment, they could hear the person inside but they refused to answer the door. After several moments, officers heard a thud and forced entry to the apartment. They found the person on the ground. The person was medically evaluated.
Traffic - Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Consent to search the vehicle was granted. During the search, 12.88 g of meth and 32.47 grams of marijuana were located. The drugs were packaged in numerous smaller bags. A passenger was arrested for Possession W/ Intent THC, Possession W/ Intent Meth and felony Bail Jumping. The driver was ordered in for OAR and misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
Crash - Officers responded to a business for a report of a vehicle that hit the building. Officers arrived and observed a vehicle hit a parked vehicle and then the building. Contact was made with the driver. It appears they attempted to apply their brakes, but their foot hit the gas pedal accelerating the vehicle into the parked vehicle and then the building.
South District
Check Person - Officers were dispatched to a park regarding a person who had been urinating in public, pouring out beers on dogs, and trying to fight people. Contact was made with the intoxicated person. The person was immediately confrontational with officers and quickly taken into custody. Just before being placed in the WRAP, they kicked an officer in the back causing pain and bit another officer on the finger when officers attempted to secure the helmet on their head. The person was arrested for an Eau Claire County warrant stemming from a case in March in which they pulled a knife on someone at a grocery store and attempted to stab them. They were also charged with Resisting, Battery to LE, Attempt to Disarm a Peace Officer, felony Bail Jumping, Lewd and Lascivious, and Disorderly Conduct.
May 23, 2026
North District
Crash with Injury – A caller reported driving and being struck by another vehicle. This other vehicle left the area but was located by ECSO. The driver of the other vehicle was arrested for Hit-and-Run Attended a Child Support warrant.
Assist-EMS – Family reported concerns for a person’s mental health. Officers ultimately made entry into the person’s apartment and located them deceased from an apparent suicide. The M.E. responded and detectives were notified.
Check Person – Officers received information of a group of people on scooters in the middle of the road that were kicking at passing vehicles. Several people were contacted and immediately fled the area on said scooters. One of the problem people was located and was told to stop but refused. When they were contacted again, they were argumentative and became resistive as they turned to flee. They were decentralized and taken into custody and transported to the Jail. Search incident revealed THC vape pen.
Traffic Stop - Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a speed violation. The operator had a revoked driver’s license from an OMVWI. They were arrested for OAR.
West District
BOLO Follow-Up – While investigating unruly juveniles and young adults on scooters, officers contacted a person. The person was ordered in for misdemeanor Retail Theft for a theft committed at a retailer in February.
Disorderly Conduct – Staff at a bar/restaurant reported an intoxicated person was attempting to force their way into the kitchen. The intoxicated person was in violation of probation conditions and was arrested for a Probation Hold.
South District
Warrant Pickup / BOLO Follow Up – A person turned themselves in for a Probation warrant and misdemeanor Retail Theft charges. Officers interviewed and arrested the person accordingly.
Check Person – While investigating a possible disturbance, officers contacted a person. They were arrested for a Child Support warrant.
May 24, 2026
North District
Traffic Stop – Officers stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. A passenger was arrested for an Eau Claire County warrant.
OMVWI - Officers stopped a vehicle for moving violations and contacted the operator. The operator admitted to consuming alcohol, however, declined SFSTs. Based on the driving behavior, they were arrested for OWI 1st and consented to the blood draw.
Disturbance – Officers contacted Person 1 reference them reporting being assaulted by their significant other, Person 2. Person 1 reported that there has been a lengthy history of domestic abuse and they had grown tired of it and was in the process of moving out. It was discovered Person 1 had requested Person 2 help by putting their child to bed and Person 2 became upset and grabbed Person 1 by the arms and threw them to the ground. There was consistent bruising on Person 1’s arms with how they described they were grabbed by Person 2. Officers attempted to contact Person 2 at their house, however no one answered. A BOLO was added for Person 2 to be arrested for Domestic DC and Battery.
Disturbance - Officers responded to a bar due to a disorderly patron currently being held on the ground by the bouncer. Officers arrived and detained an incredibly aggressive and disorderly patron. It was discovered they had entered the bar already heavily intoxicated. It was apparent they were looking for some sort of altercation as many other bar patrons stated when the problem person walked in, they were “Looking to start beef.” When they were asked to leave, they punched the bouncer in the arm. The bouncer then escorted them to the ground and held them there until police arrived. The person continued to create a disturbance and resist the bouncer and officers. They were detained in a WRAP. When in the WRAP, they continued to scream obscenities and threatened to hurt officers. At some point during the detainment process, the person cut their head and needed to seek medical attention. While at the hospital, they continued their disorderly behavior by screaming sexually charged comments toward the nursing staff. Once they were ultimately medically cleared, they were transported to the ECCJ and arrested for DC X2, Battery, Threats to LE, Resisting and a PO Hold.
West District
Threat – Officers responded to reports of reckless driving by a car group in the parking lot of a city park. On scene, individuals reported a person had threatened to shoot them. The person was contacted. They turned over a .22 starter pistol, apparently modified to fire live ammunition. They were arrested for Terroristic Threats, Possession of THC, two counts of felony Bail Jumping, and misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
Traffic Stop – Officers stopped a vehicle for multiple violations. The driver was driving in violation of bond conditions. They were ordered in for felony Bail Jumping, misdemeanor Bail Jumping, and Operating after Revocation.
Bond Violation – A person was observed with a bicycle while dumpster diving. They did not have proof of ownership for the bicycle, which violated their bond and probation conditions. They were arrested for five counts of felony Bail Jumping and a Probation Hold.
Threats – Officers were detailed to a threats case where a juvenile reported that they had received calls from another person threatening to kill them. The threatening person was contacted and advised that they were threatening a child. They were also in violation of a no drink bond condition. They were arrested for DC and a probation hold.
Check Person – Officers responded to a complaint from a hospital of a person acting erratically in the parking lot. The subject was located in a vehicle in the lot and tried to leave when officers arrived in the area. Ultimately, the person was located and exited the vehicle as officers approached. The person pulled down their pants and exposed their genitalia while yelling at the officer. The person resisted as they were being taken into custody and was ultimately arrested and transported to the jail.
Domestic - Officers met with Person 1 in reference to threatening text messages and phone calls they had been receiving from their ex/ significant other (S/O), Person 2. Officers were able to observe numerous text messages sent from Person 2 threatening Person 1 about how Person 2 was going to kill Person 1 and their family. Officers were able to locate and arrest Person 2 for Domestic-related DC and Unlawful Use of a Telephone. The 72- hour no contact was enforced.
South District
OMVWI – Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding and contacted the operator. The odor of intoxicants was present and SFSTs were completed. The driver failed and was arrested for OWI 2nd PBT of .102, legal blood draw completed.
Disturbance - Officers were detailed to an address reference an assault. Upon arrival, it was discovered that Person 1 had assaulted Person 2 at the apartment due to a property dispute. Person 2 had red markings and bruising to their arm after being assaulted by Person 1. They were arrested for Battery, DC and an Eau Claire County warrant.
May 25, 2026
North District
Harassment - Officers responded to a city park for a person on a bike following someone else. Person 1 told Person 2 to leave or they would call the police, but this did not stop Person 2 and they proceeded to ask if Person 1 wanted cocaine. As police arrived, Person 2 ditched a small plastic bag of cocaine. They were taken into custody. Two additional baggies of cocaine and a digital scale were recovered on their person. They were arrested for Poss. with Intent to Deliver Cocaine, Poss. of Drug Paraphernalia and DC.
West District
Assault - Officers responded to a home after Person 1 reported Person 2 came to Person 1’s house and attacked them. Officers contacted Person 1, who was bleeding from the nose and lip. Person 1 reported Person 2 showed up at the home and Person 1’s S/O. Person 3 tried to get them to leave. Person 2 was able to get around Person 3 and approached Person 1 stating they were going to “kick their [expletive]”. Person 2 punched Person 1 in the face and the two began fighting. Officers located Person 2 on foot a few blocks away and took them into custody. Person 2 was arrested for Battery, DC, and felony Bail Jumping.
Family Trouble - Officers were detailed to a family trouble involving a couple. The two were working on getting back together after getting a divorce 11 years earlier. The two got into an argument after Person 1 followed Person 2 to a sibling’s house. Person 2 had scratch marks and indicated they were from Person 1. Person 1 was arrested for Domestic-related Battery, DC, Possession of Schedule I and II Narcotic and Possession of Illegally Obtained Prescription
OMVWI Crash - Officers responded to a car that crashed into the ditch. The operator showed signs of intoxication and was arrested for OMVWI 1st Offense.
Check Person – Officer got a walk-up complaint of a body floating in the river. Due to the cliffs, officers could not get close enough to determine if it was human or animal. ECFD launched a boat and discovered it was a deer carcass.
South District
Crash/OMVWI - Officers were detailed to a one vehicle crash and contacted the operator of the vehicle. They advised they had fallen asleep at the wheel; however, they were also displaying signs of impairment. They failed SFSTs and were arrested for OMVWI. PBT .114.
May 26, 2026
North District
Warrant - Officers were checking the riverbank and located a person with a warrant. The person was arrested on a DOC warrant, Possession of Meth, and five counts of Bail Jumping.
Warrant – A person was located in a city parking lot and arrested on a Dunn County warrant.
West District
Warrant Pickup – Officers encountered a person while investigating another case. The person was arrested for an Oneida County warrant.
Domestic Disturbance – Person 1 was in contact with their ex-spouse, Person 2, in violation of a TRO and bond conditions. Person 1 was arrested for felony Bail Jumping, misdemeanor Bail Jumping, and Violating a Court Order.
Traffic Complaint – Officers located a vehicle involved in a traffic complaint. The driver appeared impaired. They refused SFSTs and were arrested for OMVWI 1st. They were belligerent, and a search warrant was obtained for their blood. At the jail, they PBT’d at .249.
Disturbance – Staff at a hospital reported a person was disorderly with staff, exited the hospital, then urinated in front of the ER Waiting Room windows. Officers interviewed the person, and they admitted to the behavior. They were ordered in for Disorderly Conduct.
South District
Assist-Law – Officers responded to a mutual aid request by ALPD. Officers located a person, who had multiple warrants and had been on the run for multiple years. They were arrested for a DOC warrant and two Columbia County warrants and were turned over to ALPD.
Warrant - Officers were detailed to a residential treatment facility for a warrant pickup. Officers contacted the resident and took them into custody without incident for a DOC warrant.
Warrant - Officers were detailed to a residential treatment facility to arrest a resident for a DOC warrant. They were taken into custody and transported to the ECCJ without issue.
Warrant - Officers arrived at a residential treatment facility and arrested a third resident for a DOC warrant without incident and transported them to the ECCJ.
May 27, 2026
West District
Disturbance - Officers responded to the bike trail for a complaint of an unhoused person chasing the complainant and threatening to shoot them. Officers contacted a person who fit the description. A records check showed the person had a warrant and was taken into custody. A marijuana pipe was located on their person during the search. They were arrested for felony Bail Jumping, Possession of Marijuana, a PO hold and warrant.
Restraining Order Violation - Officers were dispatched to a home for a restraining order violation. Person 1 called to report their ex-spouse, Person 2, was sitting in their backyard. Person 2 had been removed and arrested the previous day for violating the injunction. Officers contacted Peron 2 and arrested them for Violating a Harassment Injunction, misdemeanor Bail Jumping (x3) and felony Bail Jumping.
