ECPD Notable Case Log 5/27 - 6/1
From 5-27-2026, 7:00AM, to 6-1-2026, 7:00AM, the ECPD responded to 387 calls for service. The calls per district are as follows: North District – 120, West District – 110, South District – 157.
May 27, 2026
North District
Check Person – An officer checked on a person in the parking ramp. During the contact, the person was found to be in possession of a meth pipe. The person was ordered in for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Bail Jumping.
May 28, 2026
North District
Check Person – An officer went out checking at a park and ran a person. It was learned that the person had a valid warrant for their arrest. They were taken into custody and upon searching their person, a bag containing 11.82 grams of Methamphetamine was located along with a small unopened baggie of THC. The person was arrested for the warrant and Possession of Meth.
West District
Theft – The complainant called regarding four distinct racing rims/tires that were dropped off near their garage in the afternoon. After they were dropped off, someone stole them and they would observe a Facebook marketplace post shortly after the rims/tires were stolen, with the exact distinct items. Officers were able to locate the suspects that were at a storage facility. Contact was made with storage unit manager, and they provided photo evidence that a person was the suspect. The buyer set up a meeting to buy the tires, and they were stopped by officers where the suspect was arrested for theft. All stolen goods were returned.
Ordinance Violation – An officer learned there was a gas-powered boat operating on a lake. The officer located the boat and contacted the operators. One admitted they were operating the gas-powered engine. They were issued a citation.
South District
Retail Theft Follow Up – An officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. After contacting the vehicle, the passenger was identified and it was learned they had a BOLO charge. The person was ordered in for Retail Theft without issue.
Warrant – An officer arrested a person for a DOC warrant without issue.
May 29, 2026
North District
PO Hold – A person was arrested for a PO Hold after making vague threats toward their roommate. Earlier in the shift, NWC had established a safety plan with the person.
Traffic Stop – An officer stopped a vehicle for operating without taillamps. Contact was made with the driver who advised that they did not have a valid license. The person was ordered in for OAR and Failure to Install IID.
Traffic Stop – An officer stopped a vehicle after the registered owner showed revoked. The driver appeared intoxicated and failed SFSTs. The person was arrested for OWI 3rd, OAR, Failure to Install IID and Possession of THC.
Traffic Stop – An officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. During the contact, the odor of marijuana was detected. A search revealed marijuana, edibles and THC vapes. The person was arrested for Possession w/ Intent to Deliver THC.
Domestic – Officers were detailed for a report of a domestic disturbance. A person was arrested for Domestic DC and Battery after they got into a physical altercation with their parent and their significant other. The person was transported to the Chippewa County Jail.
West District
Bond Violation – Officers were dispatched to a park regarding an intoxicated person sleeping near the basketball courts. Contact was made with an intoxicated person. The person, who was in violation of their bond, was ordered in for Bail Jumping (x3).
South District
Warrant Pickup – An officer stopped a vehicle due to the RO having a revoked license. Contact was made with three people. One was arrested for an Eau Claire County Warrant and PO Hold.
Stolen Vehicle – A person reported their vehicle was stolen from their residence. The person indicated that the vehicle ignition is broken. Vehicle entered into NCIC.
May 30, 2026
North District
Check Person – Officers were detailed after a community member called to report a person rolling around on the ground and talking to themself. This was the second call for service regarding the person in a short amount of time and they appeared under the influence of methamphetamine and alcohol. The person was arrested for a PO Hold and Possession of THC.
Check Person – Officers were dispatched regarding an intoxicated bar patron who had left and gotten in their vehicle to leave. Officers contacted an intoxicated person in their running vehicle. The person failed SFSTs and was arrested for OWI 1st.
Disorderly – Officers responded to a resource center after staff called reporting that a person was trying to fight “everyone” and also that they were armed with a knife. The person left the area on foot and was located on the walk bridge. An officer located the person on the bridge and ordered them to the prone position at gunpoint. The person complied and was taken into custody. During the course of the investigation, it was learned that the person had brandished a pair of scissors during the altercations and not a knife. The person was arrested for Reckless Endangering Safety, DC and Possession of Meth after a baggie was located on their person.
Retail Theft (Follow Up) – An officer saw a person at a storage facility. The officer knew the person was a suspect in a retail theft. The person was contacted and admitted to the theft and said they had an “agreement” with the department store. The person was arrested for Retail Theft.
West District
Crash – A resident reported that a vehicle had driven between houses and struck their backyard fence. A vehicle plate was recovered at the scene. The suspect was contacted by officers as they were pulling into their driveway. The person was highly intoxicated, failed SFSTs and was arrested for OWI 1st . PBT = .243.
Check Person – An officer located a person sleeping in the park for the 2nd consecutive day. While completing a citation for camping, the person pulled an open bottle of vodka from their belongings. They were found to be intoxicated, PBT .286. They were able to care for themselves and cited for Open Intox as well.
Restraining Order Violation – An officer had contact with a person and arrested them for misdemeanor Bail Jumping x2 and Violation Domestic Abuse Injunction.
South District
Domestic – Officers spoke to Person 1 who reported a domestic that had occurred the previous night with their spouse, Person 2. They are currently going through a divorce, and Person 2 came into Person 1’s room the night before and pinned Person 1 to the bed and told Person 1 they would kill them if they were to get sole custody of their children. Person 2 denied the assault but admitted to going into Person 1’s room in the middle of the night. Person 2 was arrested for Domestic DC. 72hr no contact was enforced. Update - Officers were called back at 0111hrs, as it was reported that Person 2 had entered the residence in violation of the 72 hour no contact. A BOLO was entered.
Domestic Follow Up – An officer located a person at a motel and arrested them for violating the 72hr no contact after the person went to the house during the overnight hours in violation of the no contact order in place.
Assist EMS – Officers and EMS were detailed for a report of a deceased person. A person was found deceased in a state of decomposition. The person had a lengthy medical history and likely died as a result of a medical event. ME responded. Nothing suspicious noted.
May 31, 2026
North District
Domestic (Follow Up) – An officer stopped a vehicle operating without headlights. Contact was made with two people. One was arrested for Domestic DC stemming from an incident on the 27th.
Traffic – An officer stopped a vehicle for several equipment violations. Upon contacting the driver, an odor of marijuana was detected. The driver denied anything illegal inside of the vehicle; however, numerous drug items were located upon searching. The person was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of THC, and Possession of an Illegally Obtained RX.
South District
Warrant Pickup – An officer stopped a person for Operating After Suspension. A person was a passenger and was arrested for an Eau Claire County warrant.
Warrant Pickup – Officers were detailed after Probation advised a person was in the area and had a valid DOC warrant for their arrest. The person was seen walking in the area and taken into custody without incident.
Warrant Pickup – An officer recognized a person in a park and knew they had a DOC warrant. The person was contacted and taken into custody without issue.
May 31, 2026
North District
Warrant – Officers were detailed to a park after DOC called stating a person was in violation of his electronic monitoring and a warrant was issued for their arrest. Officers ended up locating them and taking them into custody without incident.
West District
Warrant – Officers were detailed to arrest a person for a DOC warrant. Officers arrived and took custody of the person and transported them to the ECCJ without issue.
South District
Domestic – An Officer was detailed to contact Person 1 reference a domestic disturbance they wished to report involving Person 2. Person 1 reported over the previous several days Person 2 had been staying with them. Person 2 was reportedly emotionally and physically abusing Person 1, stating during arguments Person 2 stated they were going to “Kill [them]” along with striking them in the bicep area numerous times causing injury. Person 1 confirmed they no longer wanted Person 2 at the house and was fearful of their actions. Person 1 provided officers consent and a key to their apartment to arrest Person 2 as Person 1 stated Person 2 was inside. Officers arrived and announced numerous times prior to entering and slowly clearing the residence. After receiving no answer from Person 2, officers continued to look for them and ultimately located them hiding under a pile of laundry. Person 2 remained highly uncooperative throughout the transport by shouting obscenities. They were arrested for Domestic DC and Battery. The 72 hour no contact was enforced.
June 1, 2026
North District
Checking – Officers contacted a person who was found passed out behind the wheel of their vehicle. Numerous empty vodka bottles were observed inside the vehicle. The person refused SFSTs and was arrested for OWI 5th offense, felony Bail Jumping (x2) and a probation hold.
West District
Traffic – An officer stopped a vehicle after conducting a random registration check and noting the RO had a revoked driving status. The driver was identified and had a passenger. The driver admitted they had a meth bubble in the car. The vehicle was searched; .61 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were recovered. The driver was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and a PO hold. The passenger was arrested for a PO hold.
South District
Check Person – Officers responded for a report of an unknown person trying to gain entry to a house. The caller was speaking with the subject via video doorbell. The subject was refusing to leave and stated they belonged there. Officers located them and arrested them for Disorderly Conduct.
