From 6-29-2026, 7:00AM, to 7-3-2026, 7:00AM, the ECPD responded to 316 calls for service. The calls per district are as follows: North District – 95, West District – 91, South District – 130.

June 29, 2026

North District

OMVWI – Officers stopped a vehicle for driving with a flat tire on Farwell St. The driver was arrested for OMVWI 4th.

Stolen Vehicle – Person 1 allowed Person 2 to test drive the vehicle they were trying to sell on 6/24/26, and Person 2 did not return the vehicle. Person 1 found the car on the 29th. They called a tow to get the vehicle and Person 2 got in the car and drove away. The vehicle was entered as stolen. Person 2 had a DOC warrant for their arrest.

West District

Traffic Stop - Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle after learning the RO did not have a valid driver’s license. Contact was made with the driver, who was not the owner, but also did not have a valid license. They were cited and arrested for OAR, Failure to Install IID and Felony Bail Jumping. They were also cited for no insurance.

Sex Offense - Officers responded to a home for a report that Person 1 looked through their spouse, Person 2’s, cell phone and saw nude videos of their siblings changing in their bedroom. Persons 1 and 2 were living with Person 1’s parent and siblings. Person 2 refused to provide a statement.  Person 2 was arrested for Invasion of Privacy and Representations Depicting Nudity.

South District

Domestic - Officers were detailed to a restaurant inside a retail store after Person 1 called to report being assaulted by Person 2.  Person 2 was a family member who Person 1 lived with. Person 2 showed up to Person 1’s work and took their cell phone. In doing so, they grabbed Person 1’s arm, scratching it. Person 2 was arrested for Domestic DC and Battery. 72hr no contact was enforced.

June 29, 2026

North District

Criminal Damage – Person 1 reported that Person 2 broke out a window at their residence after Person 2 saw their significant other, Person 3, inside. Person 2 was contacted at another home, where they admitted to punching out a window. They were ordered-in for Criminal Damage and felony Bail Jumping.

Check Person - Officers checked on an individual camping in the area. They were contacted and arrested on a Chippewa County warrant.

West District

Warrant - Officers observed a person and arrested them for 2 Eau Claire County warrants.

Assist-EMS - Officers assisted EMS with a PNB. The caller was arrested for a Trempealeau County warrant. The person who was medically evaluated was later pronounced deceased.

Traffic Stop – Officers stopped a vehicle for expired registration. The driver was revoked and required to have an IID which they did not have. They were ordered in for OAR and cited for Failure to Install IID and non-registration of auto.

South District

Disturbance - Officers were dispatched to a home for a disturbance. It was reported that one person had poured out several bottles of nail polish remover and thrown several pieces of pizza around because they felt as though they weren’t getting enough attention from their significant other. They left prior to officers’ arrival and were not located. A short time later, they returned and fled from officers on foot. Officers gave chase and eventually caught the person and took them into custody for Disorderly Conduct and a DOC Warrant.

July 1, 2026

North District

Stolen Vehicle Follow up - On 06/29/26, officers took the report of a vehicle being stolen after a test drive. The suspect was later arrested and transported to ECCJ on a DOC Warrant. Later in the day, officers located the stolen vehicle at the registered owner’s house. The vehicle was removed from NCIC.

Warrant Pickup – DOC requested officers check for a client. Officers located the person in a downtown parking ramp. They were arrested for a DOC Warrant.

Theft – Loss Prevention at a grocery store reported an employee had stolen over $1,500 from registers while working as a cashier. Officers interviewed the person, and they admitted to stealing the money. They were ordered in for five counts of Theft from a Business Setting.

OMVWI – Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding and contacted the operator. They admitted to smoking marijuana and drinking. They failed SFSTs and were arrested for OMVWI 1st.

Hit and Run – Officers responded to a hit and run. The operator who fled was located at their home and arrested for Hit and Run Causing Injury.

West District

Check Person - Officers responded to a beach for the report of a group of possibly intoxicated people crying at about 2AM. Officers arrived to find several intoxicated people. Three juveniles were all cited for UA. An adult was also found slumped over in a pile of vomit on a picnic table. That person was cited for Public Intoxication and medically evaluated.  They were also ordered in for Felony Bail Jumping.

Traffic Stop - Officers stopped a vehicle for running a stop sign and identified the driver and one occupant. Neither had a valid drivers’ license, and the driver was revoked criminally. They were asked to exit the vehicle and a meth pipe was observed in the door panel. A subsequent search yielded a container with 5.94 grams of meth inside. The driver was arrested for OAR, Possession of Meth and received several traffic citations.

South District

Drug Incident – Officers responded to the report of individuals smoking meth inside of a hotel room. Officers met with four people at the room. They gave officers consent to search their hotel room, where drug paraphernalia and nearly 9 grams of methamphetamine were located. All four individuals denied ownership, and all four were arrested for Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine. One of them was also arrested for felony and misdemeanor Bail Jumping and another was arrested for felony Bail Jumping.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle – On 06/27/26 ECPD assisted ECSO in recovering a stolen vehicle. The offender fled from officers on foot. Today, officers contacted the person outside of the jail and arrested them for Resisting,  Operating a Motor Vehicle without Owner’s Consent, and issued them numerous citations.

Warrant Pickup – Officers conducted a random registration check and noted the registered owner had a valid warrant. They were arrested for the Rockford, IL warrant.

Retail Theft – In June, a person stole a ROG Xbox Ally from a department store. They were identified and a BOLO was added for them to be arrested for felony Retail Theft and felony Bail Jumping.

Death Investigation - Officers responded to an apartment after the downstairs neighbor called to report that water was dripping into their apartment from the upstairs apartment. The upstairs tenant hadn’t been heard from in a few days. Officers found them deceased in the apartment. Nothing suspicious was located, ME responded.

July 1, 2026

North District

Traffic - Officers conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver. It was discovered during the stop that the driver had a revoked driving status due to an OWI. They were cited and ordered in for OAR 1st Offense.

West District

Check Person - Officers responded to a gas station regarding a person who had just stolen a can of soda and was harassing guests in a sexual manner outside of the store. Contact was made with the person, who is new to the Eau Claire area. They asked to be arrested after learning they were banned from the store. Officers obliged and arrested them for Retail Theft and Disorderly Conduct. At the jail, the person threatened to shoot multiple officers, so a charge of Threats to LE was added.

Disorderly - Officers were dispatched to the labor and delivery area of a hospital for an intoxicated disorderly person who staff were attempting to remove from the hospital. It was learned they had been asked to leave after they were found sleeping in the labor/delivery area.  While being escorted out, the person kicked over a flowerpot and began punching the walls.  As officers arrived outside of the hospital, the suspect was observed walking away from security. Upon seeing marked squad cars, the suspect fled on foot. A foot pursuit was initiated, and officers were able to take the suspect into custody after they fell on the sidewalk. The person was arrested DC, Criminal Damage, and Resisting. Bond was required.

South District

Checking - Officers observed a person driving a vehicle. The officer was aware the operator did not have a valid license and had felony bond conditions not to drive without a valid license. They were arrested for felony Bail Jumping and a PO hold.

Crash - Officers were dispatched to the parking lot of a mall regarding a crash. It was learned that Mall Security was out with three juveniles who were all intoxicated and had struck a parked vehicle with their minivan. Contact was made with the 16-year-old driver, a 20-year-old passenger and a 15-year-old passenger.  The driver failed SFSTs and was arrested for OMVWI 1st, Disorderly Conduct, and cited for Possession of THC; PBT was .208. A search warrant was granted for their blood. One of the passengers, who admitted to being 15 weeks pregnant, was medically evaluated and then cited for UA and ordered in for DC; PBT was .256. The last person was cited for UA; PBT was .105.

Warrant - Officers were detailed to the Department of Corrections for a DOC warrant pick up. Contact was made with the client, who was arrested without incident and transported to the ECCJ.

Domestic - Officers were detailed to a residence in reference to a person screaming for help from the balcony. It was discovered upon arrival that the person asking for help, Person 1, had just been attacked by their roommate, Person 2. Both subjects were intoxicated. Person 2 had received an upsetting text message from their significant other and for whatever reason thought it necessary to attack Person 1 after they simply asked Person 2 if they were okay. Person 2 ultimately struck Person 1 and began choking them. They were arrested for domestic related Battery, DC and Strangulation. The 72-hour no contact was enforced.

July 3, 2026

North District

Sex Offense – Officers responded to a report of two individuals fornicating under the Madison St. Bridge. This had been witnessed by some children in the area. These two individuals only ceased their sexual relations once they were contacted by officers. The two individuals were both medically evaluated. Later in the shift, one of them was arrested and brought to jail for Lewd and Lascivious, felony Bail Jumping, Disorderly Conduct, and a Probation Hold. The other one will be arrested for Lewd and Lascivious, misdemeanor Bail Jumping, and a DOC Warrant.

West District

Retail Theft – A person recently stole alcohol and food from a gas station. They were identified and a BOLO was added for them to be arrested for five counts of felony Bail Jumping, misdemeanor Bail Jumping, and misdemeanor Retail Theft.

Traffic – Officers stopped a vehicle for expired registration. The driver was ordered in for Operating without a Valid License, 2nd.
