From 7-3-2026, 7:00AM, to 7-6-2026, 7:00AM, the ECPD responded to 198 calls for service. The calls per district are as follows: North District – 60, West District – 69, South District – 69.

July 3, 2026

North District

OMVWI – Officers observed a vehicle pull out of a bar parking lot in front of their squad and pullover to the side of the road almost immediately after seeing the squad car. A consensual contact was initiated, which led to field tests and ultimately an arrest for OMVWI 4th offense.

West District

Domestic - Officers were detailed to a home for a domestic dispute. Upon arrival it was learned the couple got into an argument about infidelity. The investigation showed one of the people created the disturbance and was the predominant aggressor and was arrested for Domestic Disorderly Conduct.

Retail Theft – Officers saw a person and knew they had a BOLO. The person was contacted and taken into custody for Retail Theft, 5cts felony Bail Jumping and 1ct misdemeanor Bail Jumping. They were transported to ECCJ.

South District

Unarmed Robbery – Person 1 called to report they were robbed by two unknown subjects. When officers arrived, they found the unsteady victim, who advised that they had left their apartment building for a smoke and accidentally locked themself out. They were walking near recreational fields by the apartments when two people pulled up and told Person 1 to give them their money. Person 1 gave the pair $270 Dollars, and then one of the suspects struck Person 1 in the back of the head. Based on the injury they were medically evaluated. A video canvas of the area was completed. Detectives to follow up.

Check Person - Staff at a department store called to report that a person was occupying their vestibule and appeared to be huffing aerosol cans. Contact was made with the person, who was filling their backpack with the “empties” and admitted to huffing. DOC placed a hold on the person and they were also arrested for new Bail Jumping charges.

July 4, 2026

North District

Check Person - Officers observed a person near an overnight shelter and were aware they had BOLO charges. They were advised they were under arrest and began to passively resist. They were secured in a WRAP and brought to the jail for: felony Bail Jumping X3, Disorderly Conduct, resisting, and a PO hold.

Warrant - Officers checked on individuals camping in a city park pavilion. One of the people had a warrant and was taken into custody without incident.

Traffic-OMVWI – Officers stopped a vehicle for expired registration. The driver showed signs of impairment. They performed SFSTs and were then arrested for OMVWI-1st Offense, misdemeanor Bail Jumping (6x), Poss. of Open Intoxicants and Non Reg of Vehicle.

Warrant – Officers observed a person sitting outside the overnight shelter and knew they had a DOC warrant. They were taken into custody without issue. A search of their person yielded two meth pipes. They were arrested for the warrant and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

West District

Warrant – Officers were following an Uber they believed had a wanted person as a passenger. Officers were aware they had a valid warrant out of Virginia and were likely headed to a hotel just north of Eau Claire. Chippewa County requested mutual aid and officers contacted the person at the hotel after they exited the Uber. A small amount of drugs were located in their purse at the time of arrest. They were arrested on the warrant, Poss of Schedule I and II Narcotic, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of THC.

Disturbance - Officers were dispatched to check on fireworks in an area. Officers ended up in a foot pursuit with two people. One of them was apprehended and cooperated from that point on. They were cited for DC for their role. The second was located at their house and continued to lie about being involved. They were arrested for Obstructing and cited for Discharging Fireworks and DC-Loud Party.

Check Person – Officers were called to an area to check on a subject sitting on the sidewalk using needles. Officers contacted the person and identified them. They had a needle sitting on the ground next to them and another in their hand. They complied with officer’s commands and put the needle down. Officers detected the odor of marijuana as well. An Act 79 search was completed and officers located marijuana and drug paraphernalia. They were arrested for Possession of THC, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, felony Bail Jumping (2x), and PO hold.

South District

Retail Theft follow up – Officers followed up with multiple retail theft reports from a big box store involving three people. One of them was in custody at the jail and was arrested for Retail Theft.  Another met Officers at a nearby store and was ordered-in for Retail Theft. The third person was referred for Bail Jumping charges.

July 5, 2026

North District

Domestic Disturbance – Officers received information that a wanted and potentially dangerous subject was at a home and in contact with their ex significant other. It was learned the person had shown up, lit a bag on fire, and then pushed the lighter into the ex significant other’s abdomen, causing their shirt to burn. The wanted person fled the residence after the incident. They had two valid warrants out for their arrest.  A BOLO was entered for them for Disorderly Conduct, Resisting/Obstructing, 2nd-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, and Simple Battery.

Mental Health – Officers were called to an address when the caller, Person 1, expressed frustrations with their spouse, Person 2, who was diagnosed with dementia 3 years ago. On the night of the report, Person 2 urinated in the house, so Person 1 locked them outside and refused to let them back inside. Person 1 was frustrated and demanded Person 2 be taken away. Person 2 had a documented history of wandering and acting in a manner that was unsafe at home. Person 1 is no longer able to care for them. Person 2 was held on a Chapter 55, and the case was forwarded to DHS.

Detox – Officers were dispatched to an address for a report of a person who consumed mushrooms and was now acting unsafe. Once on scene, officers contacted the person, who was seated in their neighbor’s vehicle. They were significantly out of touch with reality and believed everyone was a demon. Officers determined they would be evaluated for a detox. They were eventually placed into a WRAP device for their safety and were medically evaluated.

Warrant – Officers were dispatched to a location at the request of the DOC. A DOC client had a warrant and was taken into custody. They were brought to jail without issue.

Drug Incident – Officers were monitoring public space cameras near an overnight shelter when they observed two subjects smoking and passing a meth pipe back and forth. Officers recognized the subjects as Person 1 and Person 2. The subjects were contacted and turned over the meth pipe and other paraphernalia. Person 1 was ordered-in for Possession of THC and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. This is the 3rd incident involving Person 1 smoking meth outside of the overnight shelter in less than a month.

Domestic – Officers were called to a home because Person 1 was acting erratically and threatened someone with a knife. When officers arrived, they displayed behaviors consistent with a manic episode or recent drug use. They were taken into custody for domestic Disorderly Conduct. The 72- hour no contact was enforced. During a search of their person, officers located meth and paraphernalia. They were arrested for those additional Possession charges, as well as misdemeanor Bail Jumping.

Lewd and Lascivious - Officers were dispatched to a naked person sitting in a tree outside their address. Contact was made with the person who seemed to be afraid of their clothes and residence. They said they were unsure why they were outside or why they were naked. They wanted to be medically evaluated, which they were, and after they caused issues by masturbating in the ER, they were transported to jail for DC and Lewd and Lascivious.

West District

Ordinance Violation – A brewery manager called to report a person who was walking in and near the riverbank who appeared to be extremely intoxicated. The person was contacted and identified. They could not formulate complete sentences and had an empty bottle of vodka in their possession along with another open one. They became verbally aggressive when the bottle of vodka was dumped out. They were cited for Open Containers and Public Intoxication and were medically evaluated.

Disorderly Conduct – Officers were dispatched to an area for a disturbance between several people. Two siblings were identified as the main problem. Both of those subjects were intoxicated. It was determined Sibling 1 would receive a citation for Disorderly Conduct.  They were very argumentative with officers when they received their citation. They were eventually removed from the area by another sibling.

Disorderly Conduct – Officers were informed by bar staff that there was an unconscious person inside the bar. The person was lying on the floor but was conscious when officers arrived. The person decided to crawl out of the bar and was stopped once they made it outside. While waiting for an ambulance for medical evaluation, the person’s twin sibling arrived and tried to intervene. The twin was also highly intoxicated and started to cause a disturbance with other bystanders. Officers attempted to detain the sibling, but they ran away. After a very short foot pursuit, they were decentralized and taken into custody. An officer sustained a minor injury the process. They were arrested for DC and Resisting/Obstructing. The initial subject of the report was medically evaluated for a Detox.

July 6, 2026

North District

Warrant – Officers received information that a wanted subject, from both a previous armed and dangerous post and domestic disturbance in this case log, was possibly staying at a residence. Officers contacted a resident who confirmed the person was inside the detached garage. A surround and call out was conducted and the person was taken into custody without incident. They were arrested on numerous warrants and BOLO charges.

Warrant - Officers were detailed to a halfway house to take a resident into custody for a DOC warrant. They were arrested without incident.

West District

OMVWI - Officers responded to a traffic complaint of a subject running a stop sign and exiting their car with an open container. Officers contacted the person in a city park parking lot. They showed signs of impairment but refused SFSTs. They agreed to a PBT with a result of .213 BRaC and were arrested for OMVWI 2nd Offense.

Disturbance – Hospital security reported they had escorted a person out of the hospital due to disorderly behavior. The person then proceeded to urinate in the hospital parking lot. Officers contacted the person at a nearby tavern and issued a Public Urination ticket. The person tried provoking a fight with other patrons at the tavern and was warned they would be arrested if they continued their disorderly behavior. Officers contacted them a third time after the person returned to the hospital despite their ban. They caused further disturbance at the hospital. They were arrested for Disorderly Conduct.
