From 7-21-2026, 7:00AM, to 7-24-2026, 7:00AM, the ECPD responded to 264 calls for service. The calls per district are as follows: North District – 70, West District – 96, South District – 98.

July 21, 2026

North District

Warrant – Officers located a person sleeping near a walking trail bridge. They were arrested on an Eau Claire County warrant. 7 other people were cited for camping in the area.

Ordinance Violation - Officers recognized a person drinking from a bottle of vodka in one hand while holding a beer can in the other. The person was contacted and cited for Open Container and made to dispose of the open containers.

West District

Trespassing – Officers added a BOLO for a person to be cited for Trespass at a downtown area discount store after they returned to the store despite previously being banned.

Warrant - Officers were detailed to a hospital for a warrant pick up. Contact was made with the person, and they were arrested and transported to the ECCJ without incident.

July 22, 2026

North District

Juvenile Case - Officers responded to an address as a parent called to report that their 16-year-old child was in physical altercation with siblings over doing the dishes. When the parent attempted to separate the siblings, the 16-year-old scratched them and shoved them into a wall. The child was not cooperative with officers, and it took three officers to place them in handcuffs. They were referred for Disorderly Conduct, Simple Assault, and Resisting/Obstructing. They were transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.

Warrant Pick-up - Officers recognized a person and were aware they had a valid DOC warrant. Contact was made and search incident to arrest officers located a small amount of THC and two THC pens. They were arrested on the warrant and cited for Possession of THC.

Checking – Officers checked on an encampment and located a person actively handling what was later confirmed to be fentanyl. The person was arrested for Possession of a Schedule I & II Narcotic and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Domestic –Person 1 reported that their live in significant other, Person 2, assaulted them and Person 2 was still inside the apartment. Officers met with Person 1 outside. They said they were trying to record Person 2 during an argument without them noticing, but when they did notice, they straddled Person 1 and bent their wrists to take their cell phone away. Person 2 knocked over and damaged a dresser in the process. The couple have two young children together. Both were present during the altercation. Person 1 had minor injuries to their forearms. They also said they repeatedly tried to leave but Person 2 pulled them back into the apartment each time. Officers checked the apartment for Person 2, but they were no longer present. A BOLO was added for Person 2 to be arrested for domestic DC and False Imprisonment.

West District

Warrant Pick-up - Officers were dispatched to a school for a check person call.  It was reported that two individuals were on school grounds. Officers arrived and ran both of the people’s information, and it was learned one of them had an Eau Claire County warrant. Officers took them into custody without issue for the warrant.

Theft follow up – Officers were informed that UWPD arrested a person during a bike theft investigation. The person was in possession of two additional bikes at the time of their arrest, one of which matched the description of a bike reported stolen to ECPD on 7/20. UWPD contacted the victim, who had the key for the bike lock that was on the bike. The bike was turned over to the victim. Officers interviewed the suspect at the jail, who said they got the bike, but could not give a more specific location than a street in Eau Claire. They were arrested for Receiving Stolen Property.

South District

Warrant Pick-up - Officers had info that a wanted person was staying at a residence on the south side. Officers observed the person leave the home in the passenger seat of a vehicle, and when the vehicle stopped in a parking lot it was boxed in due to the person having warrants, a known history and the intel of them possibly currently being in possession of a firearm. The person was uncooperative but eventually surrendered and was taken into custody for the warrant.

Warrant - Probation and Parole requested officers attempt to arrest a client for a probation warrant. The person was working. When officers arrived, the person they were looking for was the person who greeted them and asked who they were looking for. Once confirming it was in fact them, the person was taken into custody on the warrant.

Warrant – Probation called to have a client picked up on a DOC warrant. Officers arrested them without any issues and turned them over to jail.

Domestic – Officers were dispatched to an address for a person who pushed another person down, causing injury. Officers contacted Person 1 and their spouse, Person 2. The couple argued about several issues and the argument escalated. Person 2 started to throw Person 1’s clothing outside, and at one point pushed Person 1 to the ground, which caused scrapes on their knees. Person 2 was arrested for Battery to an Elder Person and DC. The 72-hour no-contact was waived.

July 23, 2026

North District

Bond Violation - Officers responded to a home for a bond violation. Person 1 reported an ex, Person 2, drove by the residence with their middle finger extended towards Person 1. Person 2 has an open case with no contact conditions with them. A BOLO has for misdemeanor Bail Jumping has been added for Person 2.

Drug Investigation – Officers checked on several subjects sleeping next to a building. They observed a meth pipe lying next to one of the people. That person was arrested for Possession of Meth, Possession of Paraphernalia, and a PO hold.

Domestic - BOLO charges of Domestic DC and Criminal Damage were added for a person after an argument with their soon to be ex spouse.

Warrant Pick up – Officers checked on a person camping under a gazebo downtown. The person was woken up and arrested on a warrant.

Assault – Person 1 punched Person 2 in the head and threatened to stab them while they were at the Day Resource Center together.  Person 1 was upset with Person 2 because they believed Person 2 had their phone. A BOLO was added for Person 1 to be interviewed.

West District

Warrant – Officers contacted a person at their residence, as they were aware the person had a BOLO interview and DOC warrant. They were interviewed about the BOLO and taken into custody for the warrant without issue.

South District

Traffic – Officers were monitoring a known drug residence and stopped a vehicle leaving the residence. Contact was made with the occupant. An ACT 79 search was conducted and methamphetamine was located. They were arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine.

Noise Complaint - Officers were detailed to a noise complaint at an apartment, which had been an ongoing issue. Officers contacted the resident, who was highly intoxicated and causing a scene. They were arrested for Disorderly Conduct. They began threatening officers on the way to the squad car. They were arrested for Disorderly Conduct, Threats to Law Enforcement and a PO hold.

Fight - Officers were detailed to a gas station for a physical fight involving six individuals. Officers contacted Person 1, who advised Person 2 had been in the store and the two don’t get along. Person 1 was in line to check out when Person 2 grabbed Person 1’s hair and began punching them in the face. Others eventually pulled Person 2 off Person 1. A BOLO for Battery and Disorderly Conduct has been added for Person 2.

Traffic – Officers stopped a vehicle for no license plates displayed. The operator had a suspended license, and the vehicle smelled like raw marijuana. A bag of marijuana, which weighed 4.69 grams, was located during a search of the vehicle. The driver was ordered-in for Possession of THC and misdemeanor Bail Jumping. They were also cited for their 17th Operating After Suspension. 

July 24, 2026

West District

Bond Violation - Officers conducted a bar walk through and recognized a person drinking in the bar. It was learned that person had 3 felony open cases. They were arrested for felony Bail Jumping x3 and a PO Hold.

South District

Traffic - Officers stopped a vehicle after learning the registered owner had a revoked driving status. Jacob was the driver and he was ordered in for OAR.

Traffic - Officers observed a vehicle committing a traffic violation and learning the registered owner had a suspended driver’s license.  The vehicle had pulled into a parking lot of a gas station before it was contacted.  After running the person’s open cases, it was learned they had numerous open cases to not have contact with any of that gas station’s locations. They were taken into custody for felony Bail Jumping x6 and misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
