The members of the Waterways, Parks, and Urban Forestry Commission have a mission to protect, enhance, and promote the city's waterways, parks, and urban forest by offering their recommendations on projects and issues brought to them.

The Commission shall consist of 11 members:

• 9 members appointed by the Advisory Committee on Appointments, confirmed by the City Council
• 2 Council members
• Community Services Director and Community Development Director, or their designees, serve as ex-officio, non-voting members

The members of the Commission shall elect to serve a one-year term: a chairman, vice-chairman, secretary and other officers as may be necessary from among their membership at the first meeting of the Commission after all appointments have been made. Said officers shall thereafter be elected for a one-year term each year at the first meeting after new appointments to the Commission have been made.

APPOINTED BY: the Advisory Committee on Appointments, confirmed by City Council.

TERM: Three years. 

The Commission shall hold regular meetings as may be provided by its by-laws, and may hold special meetings on the call of the Chair or at the request of the City Council.  Meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of each month at 5:00 p.m.

A majority of the Commission shall constitute a quorum. The Commission shall adopt such by-laws as appropriate to further govern its proceedings.
