2020 U.S. Census - Lets Shape our Future!

April is now upon us and the 2020 Census Bureau has sent out the initial invitations to participate in the 2020 Census!  Every ten years the U.S. Census Bureau conducts the decennial census which provides a glimpse of the Eau Claire area, State of Wisconsin and the Nation.  It's very important that everyone complete their census questionnaire and return it to the Census Bureau.

 It's Easy...It's important for Eau Claire...It's Confidential!

If you have already responded to your Census invitation...thank you!  If you haven't, it still isn't too late as the Census Bureau has extended the self-response timeframe due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  More information about the Census Bureau's adjusted schedule is provided below.

As a reminder, you can respond online, by telephone, or if you haven't responded yet, the Census Bureau will be mailing out a paper Census questionnaire in mid-April.  The web link to respond online is https://my2020census.gov.

The City of Eau Claire continues to partner with local groups and organizations such as: Eau Claire County, Altoona, area businesses, Eau Claire School District, UWEC, CVTC, and non-profit organizations to encourage a complete and accurate count of everyone in the Chippewa Valley.  We anticipate rolling out several Mobile Questionnaire Assistance Centers in late-April or May, with locations announced closer to the time that they will be available.

Finally, anyone can go to the Census Bureau website to monitor response rates across the country and compare ow Wisconsin and the Chippewa Valley are doing.  Here is the link to the Self Response Mapper:  https://2020census.gov/en/response-rates.html.

It is important for our community... it is important for you!

Remember, it's only 9 questions...so it takes just minutes to complete.
