The Survey Crew performs and is responsible for all survey phases on municipal construction projects, which includes preliminary surveys and final construction right-of-way staking.
Surveyors Use Pink Flags
City surveyors will use pink-colored flags with the lettering City of Eau Claire indicated on them. This type of flag such as the one pictured denotes "temporary survey marking" & usually indicates a City construction project may occur soon.
Other Flags
Digger's Hotline may be contacted for more information about what a flag may represent if it is not a pink-colored City of Eau Claire flag. Each flag is color coded and represents a utility location.
Can the Survey Crew mark my private property lines?
No. The Survey Crew only marks existing rights-of-way and does not mark private property lines. The Engineering Department is able to provide you with an aerial map of your property location, but this will not be exact. You can use this map, however, as a guideline to help you locate your property lines.
What can I do if I need help in locating my exact private property lines?
You'll want to contact a survey company within the area for assistance in locating your exact private property line locations. (You can also find additional information about area surveyors within the Eau Claire County Land Records website.)
