What is the study focusing on?

A parking study is currently underway focusing on the downtown business districts, Third Ward & Historic Randall Park & North Riverfronts Neighborhoods.

Who's completing the study?

The City is working with a national parking consultant firm, WGI, to complete the study. WGI has 50 years of experience in infrastructure and planning.

Preliminary Findings

There were two presentations held in October 2019 of the Eau Claire Parking Study preliminary findings. Each presentation had a separate focus (one focused on the residential & neighborhood parking and the other focused on the downtown parking) but the public was invited to attend both presentations to offer comments & suggestions prior to the final study.

What are the parking regulations in downtown Eau Claire?

The Downtown Parking Map (pdf) shows a summary of parking regulations. Call 715-839-4934 with any questions about parking locations, various parking options or general parking questions. In general:

All metered and on-street two-hour parking downtown is enforced from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 7 days a week.

Permit parking is enforced during the week based on posted times of parking lots.

Most municipal parking lots have free parking after 5:00 p.m. during the week in the permit parking stalls.
