The City Code of Ordinances Section 10.38 Alternate Side Parking aids the Street and Fleet Division to keep our City's streets safe during winter months.
When is Alternate Side Parking in effect?
Alternate Side Parking restrictions are in effect on all City streets from November 1st through May 1st between midnight and 7:00 am. When parking a vehicle on the street, the date after midnight is used to determine the correct side.
Odd Numbered Days
Vehicles shall only be parked, stopped, or left standing on that side of the street having odd-numbered addresses (1, 3, 5, 7, etc.).
Even Numbered Days
Vehicles shall only be parked, stopped, or left standing on that side of the street having even-numbered addresses (0, 2, 4, 6, etc.).
Does Alternate Side Parking replace other regulations?
No. If the street is posted as "No Parking," then no parking is allowed regardless if Alternate Side Parking is in effect. Alternate Side Parking doesn't replace more restrictive parking regulations.
Why does the City enforce Alternate Side Parking?
Snow removal combined with enforcement of Alternate Side Parking regulations allow the City to complete street sweeping and other routine maintenance during the low-traffic early morning hours.
Regulations are enforced in all areas of the City when in effect. If issued a ticket, the cost of a citation is $30.
