A highly participatory process was conducted in 2008-2009 to develop the chapter and goal statement; “making certain that principles of sustainability in the Eau Claire area are followed to improve our quality of life by meeting present environmental, economic, and social needs without compromising the ability of future generations to do the same.” The chapter plan was updated in 2015. This overarching goal has ten objectives (energy planning, local food, climate change, etc.) set forth in the plan to address areas of community sustainability. An implementation program is included to see that policies and projects are realized. |
