The City of Eau Claire encourages and supports community events! 

A special event permit is required to promote the equitable and efficient use of limited public park and other public spaces, use of limited city staff resources through proper planning for such events, and to protect public health, safety, and welfare.

Your event is a special event if it is a scheduled gathering, on city property, the public is invited, and it meets any one of the following criteria:

  • Over 100 people are expected to attend
  • Food/concessions will be served or sold
  • Merchandise or others items are to be sold
  • An admission/entry fee is charged for participation or inclusion
  • Donations are accepted
  • Street closures needed
  • Tents over 250 square feet will be put up
  • Alcohol will be served or sold
  • Alteration of park operation hours requested

Application 

Completed application forms due at least 60 days prior to your event.  

  • 2019 Application Form (form fill document)
    • Check the tabs below to see if there are any additional forms required for your event.  
  • Submit your application materials for approval
    • By email to Community Services
    • or fax (715) 839-1693
    • or mail forms to 910 Forest Street, Eau Claire, WI 54703.

Payments (required)

Fees 

Special Event Application Fee - $60.00 (Required-send with your application)

Temporary Class B License Fee $10.00 (if applicable-see alcohol information tab)

Tent Permit Fee $52.00 (if applicable-see tent information tab)

Submit one check with your application, payable to the City of Eau Claire.  Remit to Community Services at 910 Forest Street, Eau Claire, WI 54703

Insurance Information (required)

Insurance Requirement

An event sponsor shall be required to provide a valid certificate of insurance showing limits of liability not less than $1,000,000 and name the City of Eau Claire, 203 S. Farwell St., Eau Claire WI 54703 as an additional insured and certificate holder.

Serving or selling food at my event?

If you are serving OR selling food/concessions at your event, complete and submit the application.

Putting up a tent(s) at my event?

If you plan to put up a tent larger than 250 square feet, complete and submit the application.
